Valentine suddenly dropped the books he was holding, and flushed a red, "Er uh.." scrambleing to pick up the books, Valentine gathered them up and turned to look at Even, "Its not polite to ask questions like that." He fumbled, strideing forward, "Vanyel was a great guy,.." His voice broke down into a mutter, "And I swear to kill the bitch who murdered him." Shaking his head, Valentine headed up the stairs.

Even caught up to Valentine and grabbed his arm. "Vanyel was my brother. I'll ask whatever damn questions I wanna ask, and by god, I'll have answers! Now, I don't care if you and Van were lovers, we all knew that he was that way. I wanna know everything that you know about his killer, when, where, why, how. Then we will BOTH track them down and get our revenge."

Valentine was stunned as Even grabbed his arm, and he stared at him. /Yep definatly related to Vanyel.\ His mind sighed, and then Valentine sighed aloud. "Yeah well, thats sounds like a nice little plan doesnt it, find out about this killer, run off after her and slay the evil beast that kileld Vanyel? Oh wonderful, one problem. I dont know her name, where she lives, oh and did I mention she sucks the life outta gifted?!" He raised his voice, yanking his arm away from Even, "Welcome to Cassis Even, the hell of my life and I will not have you turning into a soul that stalks after me, so I will track down this gifted, and I will kill her. You will sit back, and keep alive." Valentine said sharply, he wasnt trying to be mean, but couldnt stand it if another person died, or was lost, Valentine had already sworen to kill himself once Vanyel's life was revenged.

Even watched for a moment as Valentine started to walk away. Then he threw a singal sheet of paper and with it and a few others, formed an impenetrable wall that was impossible for Valentine to pass. "Like hell I'm going to just sit back and watch you die to. You're just an illusionist, what can you do against someone who sucks- Wait! did you say it was a she? And she sucked the life out of Van?"

Valentine threw the books at the wall, then turned around glaring at Even, "I'm an illusionist, and just because I am, doesnt mean I cant buy a gun and..." he broke off as Even asked the questioned, "Yeah its was a girl, she was hovering right over him, they had just broke off from a kiss or whatever, I saw his gift being sucked right out from his mouth, so what?"

/Ok I've had it up to here with this guy.\ Valentine clentched his hand into a fist, "No way are you going to help in anyway, what part of, I will handle it dont you understand? I will not add your blood to the stains on my life!" Valentine turned around and faced the paper wall, "You dont understand anything and I dont even know you." He sighed, running a blood stained hand through his hair then he leaned forward resting his head on the paper wall, "Just go. You want to revenge your brother, then your on your own, I dont want to present of another death." His voice was strained as he choked back tears.

Even walked up behind Valentine and tenatively put his hand on the boys shoulder feeling the silent sobs. "You loved him, didn't you..." Even waited until Valentine could talk past his sobs.

Valentine closed his eyes, "He said he'd come back and..." He let out a weak laugh, "And go off into the sunset, living happliy ever after. Silly thing to say..but..it just felt so good to hear." Valentine turned around and slid down the paper wall to the floor, his head in his hands. "I can never love again...my heart cant bare to be ripped apart again. So..so once this girl is killed...I'm going to put an end to myself. I cant live without love, and love cant live with me." His mutters continued on, and Valentine's gift slipped out his body, and the hallway blurred away and was replaced by his memory of Vanyel standing at his doorway saying his was going to leave.

Even knelt down beside Valentine. "You know, he said something along those same lines to me... He said that once he was a fully trained Bard, he would take me away from our crazy family and we'd live wherever and however we wanted to... It just bugs me... Vanyel was always good about keeping his promises... If he said he was going to come back for you, then he would have..." Even let out a weak laugh. "I'm sure if he can find a way, he'll still do it...." Even let his arm rest on Valentine's shoulder. "But you can't give up on love. Van wouldn't have wanted that."

Valentine slid his gaze over to Even, “You cant say that, you cant he wouldnt have wanted me to give up.”his voice was weak,“You dont know me, you dont understand how hard is for people like Vanyel and I to love.” Valentine said this not knowing that Even also liked guys. “Some days I just feel like I should have never been born.” he mumered.

Valentine opened his eyes the illusion blurred away, the hallway scene returning, "Is it not obvious, you know Vanyel and I loved each other, you wouldnt understand how hard it is to be excepted in the world if you loved guys." Standing up, Valentine crossed his arms and stared at the ground.

"Why not? I grew up with Van, I saw the way people treated him. Who's shoulder do you think he cried on when the burden got too much. Why do you assume that I'm not like that? After all, homosexuality is genetic, I don't care what anyone said. We have an aunt and uncle on both sides that are gay." Even stood up and took down the wall. "Now if you promise not to run away I'll promise not to trap you again. And you also have to promise that you aren't going to off yourself after we get rid of the Succubus. There are still people that would miss you, besides, Vanyel couldn't stand people who commited suicide. I know that he'd be really upset with you in the after life if you did."

Valentine turned around staring at Even, his mouth open slightly, “oh no, you must be joking!” he exclaimed, “You, your a... Your gay!?” Valentine was stunned. “Oh dear lord kill me now!” turning back towards Even, Valentine narrowed his eyes, “And do suppose, will know if I am gone off to kill myself? What makes you not think I wont set an illusion up of myself being cheery, while really blood will be pouring down my arms and my life fadding away?” Valentine raised a brow and stared.
