Tiffany walked in with her usual meal, though this time she had brought Fritos honey barbeque chips with her. They were strangely addictive. She sat down, the rest of her meal consisting of marshmallows and two cans of Pepsi. She had only brought one last time, and had ended up still thirsty with the taste of marshmallow stuck in her mouth. She loved them, but not that much. She opened the bag of chips as she eyed the cafeteria food. She had always been suspicious of their methods of cooking. Food poisoning was not on her "sicknesses to get" list. She sneered at the cafeteria lady, who had decided most definitely that she did not like Tiffany. She smiled sweetly and sarcastically as she popped a rather large marshmallow into her mouth and chewed it dramatically. She grinned with the marshmallow still in her mouth, but in a less definite form. The cafeteria lady scowled and turned away. She went back into the kitchen and Tiffany giggled. She hated that nasty woman, because of her, Tiffany hadnt been able to finish her last lunch in here.

Rorrim had heard about the "school for the gifted" and he had been curious, but.... he still wasn't sure about being there with some many people... what if they found out what he could do and locked him up again? Well, Rorrim wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, but he knew that there was only one way to find out. So he followed his nose to the building marked "cafeteria" and although he couldn't read he could smell food. As he entered the cafeteria, he noticed a girl who seemed about his age showing a mouthful of white mush to a rather mean-looking lady, who turned away as the girl laughed. Rorrim wondered what had happened and found himself giggling to himself and quite curious about the girl with the white mush. Yet again he knew that there was only one way to find out what he wanted to know, so he walked over to the girl and stood there unsure of how to proceed.

Tiffany quickly swallowed the marshmallow when she saw she was no longer alone. She laughed and took a quick sup of her Pepsi. "So...Umm..You saw that didnt you?" She asked embarrassed. She smiled." Dont worry, she deserved seeing it!" Tiffany exclaimed gleefully as she leaned back to peer around the corner of the door frame, wondering if the cafeteria lady was now telling all of her co-workers how disgusting of a child she was, and how she had no manners. Tiffany huffed and sat down straight. She had seen the woman pick her nose..Cafeteria food and the ladys that dealt with the so called " healthy" food, interested her about as much as an empty can of Pepsi..Not at all to say the least. She glanced at the boy again, doing a double take at seeing him. "Oh sorry..I forgot you were there..I was lost in my thoughts, it happens all the time..I have a one track mind and right now it is set at seeing her turn as green as I did when I saw her pick her nose then handle the food here..Word of advice, stay away from the cafeteria food, there is a cafe right down the corner. I suggest you go there."She paused as she looked down at her almost finished lunch. "I could take you there if you like?" She asked as she stood up. She extended a hand in his direction. "My name is Tiffany...That is another one of my many many faults..I almost never remember to introduce myself before I ramble on during entire conversations..And I talk a lot, that is another fault of mine!" She gave him a silly grin. "So what do you say? Lunch at the cafe?" She giggled. "That rhymed."

Rorrim looked at the strange girl with her hand extended. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do with it, so he grasped it in his hand and brought it to his nose to sniff.

Tiffany watched the boy with something dangerously close to curiousity. She laughed when he sniffed her hand. "You are soooo not from here." She muttered. She wondered exactly how much he had understood of the conversation, if he didnt know what a handshake was. His hesitant moves pretty much told a big story about what his life had been like, and it must not have been an educated one. She was sorry for the boy, but doubted that he would want her pity. If it had been her in his position, she would want help, not pity..Maybe a friend..but not a sympathizer. She pulled her hand out of his, and with the opposite hand grabbed his and placed it in the hand she had extended for the handshake. She shook her arm up and down, showing him what a handshake was like. "That, is a greeting. A proper greeting anyway A way to say hello." She smiled at him. She kept ahold of his hand and tugged on it. "Lets get you something to eat."

Rorrim was interested by the shaking of his arm, but more interested in the feel of her skin. It was soft, but not in the same way that fur was soft. And on top of his curiousity and hunger was an amazement that this girl, Tiffany, had even rembered him! Rorrim resisted being drug along behind the girl and touched his chest with his free hand, so that he didn't lose contact with her, and said "Rorrim." Then he touched the girl in the chest and said "Tiffany." And last he pointed in the direction that she had been headed and said "Food?"

Tiffany giggled with girlish delight. Oh this was fantastic! "Rorrim? What an interesting name! Yes," She pointed to herself, "Tiffany!" She smiled. She turned back and looked over at Rorrim. "Food..and good food at that!" She said, gently tugging on his hand. Okay, so he didnt want to be led..but that didnt mean he couldnt walk beside her. She patted her back pocket, subconsciously reminding herself that her wallet was still there. She never really thought about it, but it seemed that every time the thought of money being involved with her day to day activities crossed her mind, she always had to remind herself that she had the money with her. Much to her surprise, sometimes her wallet comes up missing, but if she hadnt checked for it and had done everything and didnt realize it was missing until she went to pay..she didnt want to think about that. She was reassured that she still had her money with her, and started to walk to the cafe. "So what do you like to eat?"

Rorrim was having a hard time comprehending everything that Tiffany as saying, but he reallly was doing his best. He started to walk and got caught up with her. Then she asked what he liked to eat. Rorrim thought really hard and decided it was best to show her than to try and decide. Reluctantly, he let go of Tiffany's hand and saw a cat. He thought about the cat and was the cat then bounded off to catch the mouse the original had been after, leaving Tiffany dumbfounded where she stood. After he caught the mouse he bounded back to where Tiffany was still rooted to the spot with the mouse in his mouth. He sat on his hind-quaters and offered up the mouse, still in his mouth to see if she wanted any, after all, she had eaten that wierd white stuff, why shouldn't she eat this mouse??

Tiffany had wondered what had brought Rorrim to this school. Now she had her answer. All of a sudden she was staring into thin air. She looked down in time to see a cat take off after a mouse. "Umm..Rorrim?" She said staring after the cat. She saw it come back and offer her a mouse. "Ohhhhhhhh you were just trying to answer my question! I get it!..Oh..You want to share the mouse? No no..not that I dont appreciate the offer, I just ate, and I am not sure that mouse is really a delicacy I would have a taste for..I guess you are pretty easy to spend money on if you can catch your food..Handy talent you've got there." She said, hoping he understood what a compliment was.

Rorrim immediately reverted back to original form as soon as she named him. Unfortunately, the mouse was still in his mouth, and being human, it was not to his tastes. He spit it out and stood up straight. "I can hunt when i choose, but i can't hunt when I'm in this form... I don't think i can do it now that you know me..." Rorrim's mind knew what it wanted to say, but it didn't know how to say it so that this girl could understand. So Rorrim pointed in the direction she had indicated again and said hopefully "Your food?"

Tiffany was confused for a moment, but belatedly realized what had happened. "Oh...since I said your name..You had to revert back to yourself?" She had to think on that one. " What an interesting....limitation.." She said it meaning no offense, but just as a speculation. She watched a very relieved mouse run for its life, only to be caught by the cat that was originally chasing it. She sighted. "Thus is the circle of life.." She laughed bitterly. "Yes, my food, come on." She said slightly disappointed that she now had to pay for his food. She had been prepared to any way, but had gotten her hopes up when she thought his meal would come free. She perked up though, learning something new about her friend. "Would you like to know what I do?" She asked playfully as they walked the rest of the way to the cafe. Before she pushed the doors open she stepped to the side of the door, pulling him with her. She didnt want to be in anyones way coming to the cafe, or going out of it. She placed both hands in the air, cupping them like she was trying to catch water in them. She concentrated, her eyes flashing a bright blue and icing over becoming reflective like they always did. She pulled the water out of the air. She gathered it into a puddle in the middle of the air, forming a ball. She reached up with one hand and grabbed it. She ran her hands over it like a sculpter with clay. She could create almost anything with the water. She had time to practice whenever she was bored, so she had perfected her technique with water. She moved her upper hand to reveal that the ball of water was now in the shape of a cat. She slowed down the particles in the water, lowering the temperature and making it into ice. Now he could keep it. "The first form I saw you change into." She said, handing him the ice-cat.

Rorrim watched amazed as she made water come out of the air and form it into a cat and then was further amazed as she froze it and handed it to him. He took it into his hand, but its temperature was cold and it surprised him and he promptly dropped it and watched in horror as it shattered. Fearing he had angered his new friend he turned and ran towards the woods behind the new building hoping that she would follow him, that she would understand, yet praying that she didn't so that he could go back to living the way he was used to, the way he believed he should .

Tiffany watched as the cat fell. She shrugged thinking it was no big deal, that was something she did all the time, she could make him a new one if he wanted. Much to her surprise, Rorrim looked horrified. He ran off and for a moment Tiffany stood there, completely stumped by his reaction. Belatedly she realized that maybe he thought she was mad at him for breaking it. "Oh no...Rorrim!" She yelled as she ran after him. She couldnt let him go..she just couldnt. She ran into the woods and started looking for him. "Rorrim! Hey! Its okay! I can make the cat again! I dont care that it broke..It probably would have melted soon anyway! Rorrim!" She yelld his name repeatedly hoping he would come forward, but not at all sure that he would.

Rorrim heard Tiffany calling his name, and was very relieved that she had come after him. He wanted to know her better, and he wanted to learn how to say what he was thinking and read and do all of the things that other children seemed to be able to do, so he stopped running, sat down on a tree stump and waited for Tiffany to catch up while thinking about what he'd say when she got there

Tiffany finally saw Rorrim sitting on a tree stump waiting for her obviously. She sighed and leaned over, putting her hands on her knees and breathed in big gulps of air. "Wow..Glad I caught up to you!" She said laughing breathlessly. "You..are fast." She looked around for some where for her to sit. "I dont care about the ice sculpture thing..If you want a new one I can make it for you." She looked at him with watery blue eyes, they had turned back to there normal color just about the time Rorrim ran away. Confusion brought her out of the trance-like state she put herself in right before using her power. She smiled as she leaned forward, it seemed easier to concentrate when the blood was flowing properly to her brain. Right now it seemed centered around her legs and chest, where it was burning and throbbing painfully from the run. She bit back a wince, "You okay?"
