"I know exactly what you mean!" Jarrod replied. "Anybody can just read a map, but it takes some real tallent to figure it out for yourself." He looked around the Library for a while, nodding his approval. "This place probably doesn't just have maps then; it'd probably be harder to find something this place is lacking..." He took another look around the place. "Except maybe a TV or two to keep the readers from falling asleep," he added. He hated studying, with a passion. He didn't let himself dwell on that, however, getting back to the books. "This place is awesome too," he said; the school failed to dissapoint him at every turn.

Tiffany nodded in agreement. She placed her finger on the side of her mouth and tilted her head to the side. "Where havent I showed you yet..?" She asked mostly to herself. She looked back and forth and shrugged. She looked up at Sparky. " You want to see the lake and the forest? Now, I wouldnt go into the forest at night, it gets tricky.." She said with a hint of a smile right where her finger was laid on her lips. She turned on her heel and walked out of the library, only stopping to bask in the warm sun for just a moment. "Where to next..that is the question.." She muttered with a laugh.

"The lake and the forest, of course," Jarrod replied, also with a healthy chuckle. He glanced aside at her, having noted her smile at the warning not to go into the forest at night. Tricky or not, he would have to do exactly that now. "Let's head to the lake first," he suggested with a nod. He'd always enjoyed swimming; the lake is as good a place as any other for such an activity. Unless there was some kind of secret here that he didn't know of... That would be fun too, just like a mystery nov- He stopped himself there and put his mind back to the present, smiling at his tour guide.

Tiffany grinned, the lake was her favorite place. She nodded in agreement once more, "Mmhmm..the lake it is then!" She said turning sharply to the left. She began the longish walk to the lake. As they were walking down the beaten trail, she kicked her feet hard into the dirt. "What brings you to Cassis? Or was there any particular reason?" She asked curious about this new comer. She decided to keep an eye on her feet, lest she trip on a root and fall, which would be embarrassing. She turned to keep an eye on Sparky as well. She always thought that you could always tell if people were telling the truth or not by listening to their answer while watching their facial expressions.

Jarrod wasn't expecting that one. He took a deep breath, pursed his lips and let it all out in a chucklingly deep exhalation. "Long story," he said as he ran a hand through his har, ruffling it up a bit as he thought of where to start. "To make it short.... Nope, I got nothin', so you get the long version." He chuckled again, hoping he wouldn't bore Tiffany too much. She'd been nice enough to him thus far and he didn't want his repayment to be complete boredome. "It started when I was ten. I got disowned and shuffled around between orphinages because I wouldn't stop using my powers. After getting out of the orphinage, I couldn't get into a good college, again because people were suspicious of my powers. I wound up coming here almost on accident while I was looking for a good college." He ruffled his hair again and smiled. "That's about it," he finished, "What about you?"

Tiffany sighed and shrugged, might as well tell him. "Well..what brings me to Cassis.." She said slowly, unthinkingly procrastinating. "I almost killed my boyfriend..I was sitting with him one night, which I later came to find out was the night he was going to ask me to be his wife, and I placed my hand on his arm." She said, her eyes seeing the memory as if she was reliving it. Her hand reached out like she was placing her hand on the strength of the arm of the man that had meant the world to her at that time. "After that..I can only remember what the moisture on his arm felt like, how I knew what moisture I could take...manipulate...I almost killed him..put him in a coma..After he woke up..thankfully he woke up.. He wanted nothing to do with me." Tiffany's head dropped. "I couldnt blame him..I wanted nothing to do with me..and sadly neither did my parents..so I left and ended up here." She was quiet for a while but spoke up suddenly. "Here we are.." She said pointing the glistening glory that was the lake. The lake itself was about the size of three football fields linked together. It dipped down deeply in the middle but was for the most part shallow and fun to swim in. It was surrounded by lush bushes and trees. It was a beautiful sight, especially when the sun glistened off of the water.

"I see." He didn't sound sympathetic, figuring that Tiffany had probably taken more then enough sympathy as it stood, but he did sound friendly and understanding. He'd had some family problems because of his powers too; the difference was that instead of hurting a loved one, the loved ones had hurt him. He couldn't imagine how the reverse of that situation might feel, but he hoped he'd never have to find out. He was sure it was an aweful feeling. And then they came to the lake, and the thought was pushed quite forcefully from his mind. If beauty really was in the eye of the beholder, Jarrod must have had some really beautiful eyes at that moment. "This place..." He wakled forward, going so far as to wade ankle-deep into the water of the lake. "It's incredible!" He basked in the area, closing his eyes and spreading his arms out. It even smelled better then the rest of the school here. He could really learn to like this.

Tiffany just watched him wade into the water. It was something that she had done over and over again, overtaken and overwhelmed by the beauty of the place. She glanced off to a place that was all too familiar to her. A place where she had sat watching people have fun as she waited for Laodice. She shook her head. Never again..She thought sadly as she brought her gaze back to the man standing in front of her. She let a small smile play across her lips at his enthusiasm. She merely nodded her head. "Yes, that it is.." She murmered. She let her eyes wander around his form, taking in the site. She closed her eyes quickly, not wanting to get into that again..Get into what? She asked herself. Nothing..absolutely nothing..She answered absolutely. She opened her eyes and smiled slowly. She loved the absolute innocence and love of nature and beauty that this man held. "Want to see the forest now?" She asked breaking the silence.

Jarrod smiled as he opened his eyes, turned around - not fully, just twisting his waist and head around to look at Tiffany - and put his hands back down to his side. He nodded as he stepped back out of the lake, the feel of wet shoes plaguing him as he walked back toward her. 'I hate wet shoes!' he thought. 'How stupid of me...' No matter. It was a temporary feeling. "Sure," he called out as he went back to her side. "Just lead the way, Tiffany." The hazel orbs that were his eyes absolutely sparkled with the good mood he was in right now as he looked back to her.

Tiffany nodded once sharply. "It isnt far now..That is why I suggested them both at the same time..the lake and forest are close..and after I show you the forest, I cant think of anything else to show you..Most people just wander through the town itself to find different places. So I will leave that up to you if you like." She said trudging the last steps to the forest, kicking away loose rocks and dirt out of her way. There was a foreboding main entrance. It was considerably darker in the forest, for the canopy blocked out all but a few rays of spotted sunlight through its thick masses. It was getting late so Tiffany decided to hurry to show him the main trail." Let's make this quick." She said quietly, crossing her arms. She lowered her head and began the semi-long walk through the Physsel Forest. She spoke while watching her feet. " This is the main trail. There are many..many runoffs from this one, most leading to little clearances. This place used to be great for camping..but now, I wouldnt be one to spend the night here. There was a boy..His name was Killian..He was killed in this forest..Walked one of the trails late at night." Tiffany shook her head sadly. "The life was sucked right out of him..his killer didnt even try to hide the body.."
