The flipping and flopping of Hayleey's feet was the only thing besides the thudding of raindrops on the roof, that could be heard in one of the many corridors of Cassis. The outside shown greatly through the large windows lining the pale walls of the hall itself. It was lovely
A grey sky. Big puffy clouds of chaos sitting in the sky. The ocassional streak of yellow, cuting through the dull grey sky. Oh and one musn't forget the unseen sound of boisterous thunder that rumble the heavens above. It was all so peacful to Hayleey...Oh so peaceful.
Pulling her pale lavendar hair over her shoulder as to not sit on it, Hayleey took a seat on one of the window panes, one leg crossing dantily over the other. They were covered in the least way, for a mini-mini skirt didn't cover much except what needed to be covered. The small back wings on her back were bundled inside her jacket, though it was not uncomfortable.
If it werent for a teacher earlier on in the day, Hayleey's abdomonal region would have been exposed form the halter-top she wore. But now, Hayleey looked as though she had some decencey as she was covered by a thin jacket she was told to fetch from her dorm. Hayleey didn't care of what people thought of her, and didn't care that her clothing style depicted how she was inside, because Hayleey looked at her body as art. Everyone should have the right to show some of it off, right?
Hopefully no techers would come down the hall in search of her, for she just wasnt in the mood to be bothered right now.

Crest walked through the halls, a little sad he couldn't go out. But bah. Inside, he could do other things. Like pull pranks. And selecting girls would be easier with all of them bunched inside...what? He liked girls. Nothing wrong with that. And he was good loking. Spikey red hair, a cute face, a red sort of....it looked like a cloth, but was as long as a jacket. Red with black flames, and burnt at the end. White pants with a flower design. And from past experiences, he knew ladies did like him.
Plus he was upbeat and happy. Funny....he was himself. He saw a girl on a bench, but strangely, ignored her. He was tired from the whole mall episode. He should have look for Faye. He knew she liked him, and she was kinda cute. But she was pretty ticked,,,maybe he should find a different girl. He shrugged, sittign on the bench, starting to rest.

Hayleey heard the padding of footsteps nearing her, well the area she was in, though she bothered with not looking to see who it was. If a techer, they'd surely let her know it. If a student, well, so be it. But out of the corner of her eye, she could see that it was indded a student. Hmm another rebeliant, just like her. Well, she'd seen enough of them in a lifetime to not be excited about the arrival of one, no matter if it was a boy or not. She held no interest in the newly arrived guy, only the thinder that was brewing outside. And plu, since he was clearly a rebel as well, she knew how they thought, and refused to allow him to think she was 'easy' if she even eyed him the wrong way.

He skipped class. So what? He was still smart. Hah. Plus that other bad run in with the teacher, that teacher he had trouble with would surely give him.....10 pop quizzes, and he just didn't have the attention span to do that much. Maybe he should just listen to some of his iPod...music could help. He put his smile back on, finding that it hurt too frown. He took out his iPod and listened to Fort Minor. He finally acknowledged the girl next to him and said "Hey. Skipping class too? What? Rebel, suspension, or just not in the mood? Oh, if a teacher comes, I can take the blame. I'm pretty good at well....getting away from the teachers." He said with a laugh, not ifnding it awkward to just start a conversation with strangers.

Zhou Xi needed a walk. The young Chinese man's head was reeling from all the classes he'd been forced to attend today. It was way too much English for one who was used to it in moderation. He wouldn't say he was skipping class, he was just... taking a bit of a break, anyway. Besides, what did he care about Western mythology? It was boring. Americans and most Europeans had absolutely no imagination when it came to creation myths. 'On the first day, God created the universe, and saw that it was good. On the second day, God created the Earth, and saw that it was good.' Zhou Xi had then asked, "What was this god's name? And why is he so conceited that he felt his creations were 'good'?" His honest inquiry had been met by frosty silence. So he'd left. What was the point of attending a class if you weren't going to learn anything? Besides, that heifer had mispronounced both his chinese name and the name he'd taken for himself. Zhou Xi, ok; westerner's were largely unfamiliar with asian pronunciation, but what was so difficult about Eprhaim? He was very tempted to lodge a formal protest with this school's headmaster and send the offending instructor a pointed letter. Ah well. Ephraim was sure he'd be able to 'drop' the class, as so many of his fellow students had done and suggested to him. She'd even complained about his lack of footwear. What was the big deal? Eprhaim had always prefered walking barefoot; even during the dead of winter while he was still living in the monastery at Xi Liang. 'Pain is weakness leaving the body; the only way to grow stronger is to defy the elements and declare that your will and body are more powerful.' Eprhaim greatly missed the philosophical conversations he and the Grand Master used to have on an almost daily basis. Ah well. He only had to be at this school long enough to hone his odd power, then he could return home.
It appeared he wasn't the only one 'skipping' class - what an odd phrase. Smoothing the trousers he wore and pulling his silk robe a little tighter around his narrow frame, Eprhaim smile politely and said, "Hello there, fellow students. My name is Ephraim, and I am honoured to make your acquaintance." He then bowed - but remembered it was the western custom to 'shake hands', not bow, and held out his long-fingered hand to 'shake', not wanting to appear rude.

Hayleey, still perched apon the window frame, cut her eyes over to the first arrived guy who was in the mood for small talk. "I am a rebel. What are you, out of that little list you've just named?" She didnt await an answer, "Oh, it's fine...If its a man, Ill just have to work magic." She knew that he probably thought she literally meant magic. No, not what she meant at all. Hayleey sighed. And then, the next thing she knew, some randomnly arrived guy appeared right beside her. This time, since he spoke right off the back, she turned her body toward him, gving him full eye-contact. She watched as he bowed....Erm. No one bows...He must be foreign exchange. yes, that is exactly what he is...A cute one at that, I must say. Hayleey flashed her pearlious teeth as she smiled politely. Returning the gesture, Hayleey shook Ephraim's hand.

Crest watched as a new guy came up. Bowing? Well, if he was foreign exchange, it was OK. And he didn't want to make him feel like some outcast. He chuckled in his head as to how people made nerds from their own country feel like outcasts, and then as to how they made people from different countries feel at home. A bit of a sad, but also funny thought. He shrugged, got up, then bowed to the boy, and then shook his hand. He then sat back down, still smiling and said
"Hey...you don't need to do that, you know? Go up to everyone and bow. Just be yourself and have fun, and people may copme to you. But others won't exactly be as nice as us. In schools like these, and everywhere, cruel as it is, you get beat up for that stuff. So just lighten up a bit. Just saying for your own safety. And my name is Crest by the way. Pleased to...make your acquantaince too? And Ephraim? Cool name dude." He said looking at him, not funny or anything, just like everyone else.
He then turned to Hayleey. "Don't even try to work your little feminine magic on me. I mean....cute as you are, it won't work. I've more or less built up a resistence t it, but please, do try. I guess I'll enjoy it, but it won't work." He said with a smirk, as if issuing some challenge.

Ephraim smiled warmly as each student shook his hand in turn. One of them had even bowed, too! Perhaps all westerners weren't as uncouth as he thought... And, well, although Zhou Xi had never felt a distinct attraction to americans and europeans, he had to admit that the girl was lovely. A lotus in bloom. A crane in flight. Ack. He better distract himself. Quick. Fortunately, the other student provided a viable diversion. He smiled and nodded appreciatively to Crest. "I will... take your advice to heart, thank you, Crest. I suppose it is a bit unusual for someone my age to be so diplomatic." Ephraim's english was crisp and proper, his accent a mellow blending of British and Chinese insinuations. At the mention of 'magic', Ephraim's eyes lit up - the context for which it had been mentioned clearly going over his head. "Oh? Are we... doing a demonstration of powers?" he asked eagerly. "I will admit, I'm very curious as to what other abilities my fellow students have. I'm sure there is no end to the variety and I can't wait to see!" One hand travelled to his pocket; the trio of rings he had Forged for himself rested there, and Zhou Xi loved showing off his handiwork.

Hayleey smiled as Crest was polite enough to pay his respects and return the foreign gesture. How cute!! Just as she was complimenting mentally on how cute and respectful Crest had been for that breif moment, she took it back as he commented. She knew there was a hidden challenge in the depts of his words, and she was up for it. "Mhm, sure. No one can resist Hayleey. And if you wanna bet, you can meet me at the dorms after school." The expression written on her face was one of a person who had just over-lapped a challenge with another challenge of their own.
She turned her attention back to Ephraim, who was seemingly eager for them to demonstrate. She figured he must have thought that the magic she was speaking of was real magic, but she decided she wouldn't call him on it. "Sure, but with my powers, you're going to have to know that I wouldn't intentionally lock you there out of cruel or meanness...Perhaps you'll both feel at ease if I were to just explain it.."
