Maciej shoved the golden key into the lock, manuevered it, and opened the wooden door that had the number '42' in silver numbers on it. He walked forward after wrapping his hands around the handle of his brown suitcases and then closed the door with his foot as soon as he was in, still holding onto the cases in which his belongings were packed it. Raising an eyebrow, the boy examined the room, taking in every detail and making little notes of what to alter, what to keep, yada yada yada. Wallpaper was fine, posters were going off, bed sheets were going to be changed, lamps switched, desk cleaned (it was covered in a thick layer of dust, how disgusting) curtains could stay since they matched the walls. Well, he figured it was about time to completely destroy his side of the room and rebuild it up again, since it was perhaps the worst thing he's seen in his life. Ever.
Setting down his suitcases, the boy walked forward and removed the posters advertising groups, such as 'Glee Club' or 'Vegetarian Club', and then crumpled them up into a large ball, throwing it into the garbage and turning back around. He slid his hand down the wall, liking the pattern of the wallpaper that was already put there. It was a blue with medium sized light blue bands running vertically down the walls, and within these bands were small, dull golden diamond shaped patterns going from the floor to the ceiling. "Je l'aime." he said aloud to himself, glad there was no one around to hear. The boy directed his attention to the lamp, grimacing at it. It was perhaps the ugliest thing he had ever seen. An ugly shade of purple, the rest of it an olive green, and the light bulb was red. What was this; a Cat in The Hat story?
I went into my room
And there I saw this lamp
It was green, purple, and red
Can I keep it; No I can't
He rolled his eyes at the thought, unplugging the object and then grabbing it, setting it down onto the floor next to the garbage, resisting the urge to give it a kick. These kinds of ugly things annoyed him, and even more so that some people actually liked these kinds of things. He was pretty sure he had a lamp in one of his larger suitcases that had already been brought to his dorm room, and thank goodness for that. All that was left was the desk and bed sheets, and he got to the desk. Shaking his head, he walked over to his bag, searching for something he could use in place of a duster. Finding nothing, the boy made an annoyed sound, deciding to use a wet rag instead. Maciej grabbed a small towel and a half empty bottle of water, and wet the towel a bit. Closing the bottle and making his way over to the desk, he wiped it clean of any dust, then used a different towel to dry it off. Stepping back, he was satisfied with what he had already completed, and then put the two towels near the suitcases so he could take care of them later.
"Molto piĆ¹ meglio; questa stanza sarebbe condannata senza di me." He muttered to himself, believing with every last ounce of faith in his body that statement was the truth. Rubbing his eyes, he sat himself on the bed, deciding he'd change the sheets later, but that everything so far was doing fine. Maciej glanced to the other side of the room. It was the same as his his been before, and he wondered if he should change it too, not knowing if he had a roomate or not.
But that other bed must've been there for a reason.
