Hurt

[Marr-ee]

Amberly walked around forever, tossing around her thoughts about what happened between her alicia and Vanden. It tore at her heart. Realizing at that moment that she really did like him. If she didn't, she would feel this way and these tears wouldn't be there. She wiped away a few tears coming into view of the common room. Exhaustion set in, and she opened the door, relieved to see that noone was in the room.
"Thank god there's noone here..." SHe said to herself and quickly slumped into one of the chairs that was furnished there. She brought her feet up to her chin and leaned back letting her body rest.
"What am I doing.... I don't like Vanden, I can't. He likes her... Does Alicia know I like him? AHhh... Damn you Seaheart. Why couldn't you just let me find out on my own? It would have been better, or at least from someone more considerate of peoples feelings." She thought about what she was saying, "Well, seaheart, you win. As always..."

Alicia stood at the entrance to the common room. Her hand was on the handle, but she didnt open the door. Not yet anyway. Her head fell as she thought about everything that had happened. 'I almost lost a friend over a guy I dont really even know..I must not know him as well as I thought I did..'She thought sadly. She took a breath trying to steady herself mentally as she opened the door. There in plain sight was Amberly. 'Is she crying? What have I done? ' She reprimanded herself silently as she walked to Amberly.'Will she even want to talk to me?' "Umm Amberly? I think we need to talk.." She said quietly, fully expecting to be yelled at and sent away. She shifted her weight to her other foot. "Please hear me out?"

Amberly turned her head to the voice and realizing that it was Alicia. She didn't really want to talk to her just because of Vanden. Seaheart told her everything and he was right as always. How could she listen to anything else. With a sigh, she gave her a nodd without a single word, but a sadden look on her face.
'WHat could she want... she already got Vanden, now she still wants to be friends. Why is this happening to me. I wish that Seaheart was here instead of her. What good can come out of this conversation.'

Alicia turned a seat backwards, and sat down in it. She folded her arms over the back of the seat and put her head on her hands. She looked away from Amberly, not wanting to see the look on her face when she told her what she had seen. She cleared her throat. "Where to start...Umm...First things first Amberly, I didnt know that you liked Vanden, or I never would have encouraged a relationship. I want you to know that. Even though I doubt any of that matters now..." She took a deep breath. "And I hope that you can forgive me. I know you have probably heard enough bad news for today to say the least.." She paused and turned her head to lift her head and slap it on her hands. 'So dont want to say this but I have to..' Alicia let out the deep breath in a loud "Whoosh". "I saw Vanden kiss Valentine.." She said as quickly as she could, for saying it made the tears well back into her eyes. She wiped them away quickly as she waited for Amberly's reaction.

Amberly just stared at her. It was no surprise. If he could start liking someone else almost instantly and then turn around and do it again, she expected it to happen. She almost wanted to get up and jump out a window, but since she wasn't granted the ability of flight. That was out of the question. She took a few minutes to let what Alicia sink in.
"Well... I really didn't know if you knew or not. It hurt so bad when Seaheart told me about you and Vanden. I confronted him, but I ran from him. I couldn't take his explaination." She finally spoke out, but her voice was so down. She let her hand come up and rub the side of her face and let her head rest on the side with a sigh.

Alicia looked up at Amberly suprised that she wasnt completely angry at her for almost stealing someone from her. She let out a loud sigh. "What have we gotten ourselves into?" She asked sadly. She smacked her forehead, "Stupid me..to think that I could find someone that likes me for me..." She laughed mocking herself for her stupidity. "Im sorry that I came between you two...." She stood up and shoved the seat back where it belonged. "I need to clear my head. " She said , trying to explain herself, but barely talking above an audible whisper. She hurriedly walked outside as she felt the tears start to fall.

Amberly only shook her head and dropped it letting her emotions get the best of her. She still felt something for Vanden since the first day. Those feelings just don't go away, but they hurt when their're messed with. Hearing ALicia's voice she could tell that she was in the same shape as her.
"It's okay..." Was all she could say at that time, noticing that Alicia was getting up from the chair, she almost wanted to tell her to stay. However, she couldn't find the voice to let her. Watching her leave, she let her head drop, instantly letting her body become racked in sobs.

Just before she left she heard Amberly say, "Its okay." She stopped for a moment, she couldnt believe her ears. Never had she met such a good person..She wished she could comfort her in some way, but she had nothing to give. Not right now. She had to get away. Hearing Amberly sobbing made the tears stream down Alicia's face. She ran outside, she couldnt bear to hear her suffering knowing that she was the cause. She ran, she ran until she ran out of breath. She ran into the woods, not knowing where she was for she couldnt even see through the tears. She hit her knees, and put her face in her hands and cried like she hadnt cried in a long time. Her crying became silent hiccups as she looked around to see if she recognized where she was at. "Oh no.." She stood up and began to panic. She had no idea where she was..

Amberly finally lifted her head up, wiping the tears from her eye's. She hated to be so weak, crying was the only thing she hated to do even with people not present. Her red eye's stared at the wall, the past coming to haunt her yet again from what Seaheart told her.

I didn't want you to find out the hard way but I think....Alicia and Vanden really like eachother. "Yeah, sure... you just couldn't wait to tell me." She said to herself, still not wanting to beleive what she had heard.

Those words burned her ears to reply it in her mind. Vanden! Of all people, she didn't think it would be him to hurt her like this. Feeling so rejected.
"Damn him..." She forced her hoarse voice to whisper out, letting her sobs return letting her head relax on her arm.

Arrisa watched from the shadows. She saw Alicia run from the building, crying. "Weak.." She chided Alicia. She wondered what in the common room had made Alicia cry. She had seen the very interesting episode with Vanden. "Hmm, Vanden...wonder where he has gotten off to?" She talked silently, not wanting to attract any attention. She took off the cloak that she had worn to the school, to reveal that she was wearing the exact same outfit as Alicia. She had styled her hair like Alicia kept hers. She looked in a window of the building that was close to the common room. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, inspecting the 'illusion' that she was trying to create. She laughed quietly, loving the ideas that ran through her head. 'First I will alienate her from her friends..I will destroy her self worth, make her life miserable..then... Bye bye sweet little Alicia!" Arrisa let out a barking laugh that sounded nothing like Alicia."Oh I must stop that!" She worked on imitating Alicias voice. "Ahh, much better.." She turned around and leaned over the corner of the building to see if she could find Alicia, but she was nowhere in sight. "Perfect!" She almost clapped her hands in glee. "I must remember to keep a straight face.." She turned on her heel and walked into the common room. She had almost expected to see Vanden, but was slightly startled when she saw Amberly. She hid a grin and rubbed her hands in glee behind her back. 'This is better than expected!!' She thought delightedly. "Oh, Amberly! I needed to talk to you just a little bit more..What do you say?" She said as she made her way to Alicia's roommate.

At the sound of another voice in the room, she forced her head up and quickly wiped her eye's expecting someone else other than Alicia. She had came back! She never thought she'd be so happy to see her again, but what could she want? Amberly sat up in the chair letting her foot touch the ground, still leaving one up to prop her head up with. Her features were awful. Her usual complextion was now reddened around her eye's and her cheeks. YOu could definaltly tell she'd been crying. She forced herself to talk.
"Sure... if you want, " She called out meekly but sniffled once and looked at her in the eye's.

Arrisa made it to the table. "Wonderful!"She exclaimed happily as she pulled out a chair. She sat down in it and crossed her legs in a very lady-like position. "Now I just wanted to discuss the situation with Vanden..You do know that he never liked you right? No? You didnt?? Oh, my , how sad.." She feigned innocence. She leaned forward eagerly."Did you know that he is a fantastic kisser? Oh my yes he is! As I am sure that Valentine knows too right! I mean, the way he was kissing that cute little cat boy, I am sure that both of them were enjoying themselves a lot!" She watched Amberly's reaction, hoping to see hatred for Alicia, or pain..either one would make her happy. She made herself more comfortable. "You know it is nice confiding in someone? To just let it all out! About boys..problems, relationships..So how is your relationship going? Its not?! " She kept up the barrage of questions, not even letting Amberly answer. She tried to dig into the deepest recess of Amberly's imagination, trying to make her envision things that would haunt her for the rest of her life. " Do you know what kind of couple that Vanden and Valentine would make??My they looked just scrumptious together! Almost made me want to ask and join them you know?" She finally waited for a real reply from Amberly. "So?" She asked with the most innocent face she could imagine. Inside she was laughing so hard that she was suprised and proud of herself for her performance.

Amberly thought that she was going to be very compassionate, or that's how she was when she left the room. She seemed concerned about her feelings and now she was acting as thought it were no big deal. Blowing everything out into the open. THe way she felt and the way Vanden felt about her. 'WHy was she telling me this?' She questioned herself and could barely keep up with her questions and answers.
You do know that he never liked you right? .... He is a fantastic kisser.... kissing that cute little cat boy.... Amberly's stomach did a turn hearing all that horrible news. 'How could he? WHy would he... First seaheart now Alicia, am I just not meant to have a life?'
Alicia kept going on and on, and her heart was breaking more. Finally she couldn't take it anymore. Getting up from her chair, she held her stomach.
"SO...SO? WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY? HUH? I TOLD VANDEN HE COULD HAVE YOU... That... that I didn't care. Alicia, I thought you were my friend... you lied to me." Amberly had never raised her voice at anyone before, let alone screamed. So many thoughts and emotions ran through her mind and instantly a wave of dizziness overcame her. She ran to the door and barely made it out of the door before her legs buckled underneather her and she collasped to the ground. She cried to her hearts content. She never wanted to see Vanden or Alicia ever again.

Arissa watched Amberly run from the room with the utmost satisfaction. She began to laugh so hard that she actually tipped her chair over. "Oh that was perfect! That could not have gone better..Wonder if I should chase her out there??" She asked out loud as she laughed maniacally. "Oh! I.D..eA!!" She jumped up and pushed the chair out of her way. She ran out of the common room and laughed harder as she passed by Amberly. She ran back to the dorm rooms to see what all was there. 'If I can find more friends that she has, then that is just one more relationship to ruin!!" She laughed again as she found the room that Alicia and Amberly shared. "Hmm.." She walked in and found a side of the room that was piled with books. "Disgusting that she would dabble in such nonsense.."She muttered as she rummaged through Alicia's things. She found a notebook that held people's numbers. "Looks inviting.." She sat down on Alicia's bed flipped through them. "Terren? Ohh..and there is a little heart beside Terrens name that has Michella beside it..A couple? And they are both friends of Alicia? Hmm..juicy stuff this is.."She giggled and closed the book. She stood up and stuck the small notebook in a pocket in her pants. "Now its time to get back to work.." She laughed as she closed to the door to the now ransacked dorm room.
