"Well, after 15 years, you get used to 'em, you know?" said Jonelle and then laughed. "Outdoors are always good, but I'm a water person. Surprisingly. I like swimming because I have a tail, which is like wearing flippers. Also I can hold my breath for quite a while there." Jo took another little bite from the muffin. "Pretty crazy stuff. I've been telling myself I'm gonna spend some time at the lake, but I haven't gotten there yet. Trivial classes assigning homework sometimes gets in the way. Mm...this is actually a really good muffin." Jo took another bite, chewed it, and swallowed. "How's Cassis for you so far?"

" Cassis is fine, actually. It's not like home, but nothing ever is...is it? I mean, I'm used to the hot sun, elephants in the backyard and small houses. Not anything like what Cassis offers. I miss my home, but I haven't really met anything bad or mean or anything. So, I guess you could say it is exactly that. Fine." Beatrix explained. She thought back to the elephants and the giraffes she was so used to seeing. Remembered having to hide in the house when a lion was reported near-by. Life was always beautiful when you lived with a small support system like her village.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. I used to live around 300 miles north of here, and I'm used to polar bear warnings." Jonelle sighed. "It was fun because I scared everyone by dancing in front of them. The just snorted and I petted them and stuff. There was just one who kept coming back. He was like a big teddy bear." Jo smiled and took a bite. "They were good times, I'll admit. But I have a feeling that Cassis will be something else. It has something to do with her." she said, indicating the woman behind the counter, who was probably undergoing heart palpatations.

" Wow, Polar bears? They are so damn cute." Sighed Beatrix, thinking back to her times at the Zoo when she was younger and meeting seeing polar bears. However, that had been a long time ago and she was a little foggy with recalling bits of memory of what they looked like in person. When the girl pointed to the woman who seemed to be dying of a heart attack or something, Beatrix snickered softly and shook her head.
" Don't worry, if you keep showing up around here she'll get used to you and see you're not all bad." Beatrix advised with a kind smile on her face as she sipped more of her Ice-Coffee. Beatrix felt Jo wasn't bad at all, infact, Beatrix found Jo to be good company.

"Hope so," said Jonelle. "I really don't want to have to go through a war zone everytime I want a muffin." Jo took a bite. "Which will be actually very often, because these are really, really good." Coming to Cassis was a mind-boggling experience. It's like before your first time to any overnight camp, she thought. You think you're gonna know what it's gonna be like, but of course you don't know, and you're always completely wrong. But...for the few moments before you get to the point when you really know the place, it's amazing and new and exiting. Jo ripped off a bit of her muffin and offered it to Beatrix. "Here you go, Trixy," she said. "Trust me, it's delicious." She was smiling.
