In the forest (open to all)

~Alastor sat in a tree. The sun was shinning throught the branches. He was reading a old book. The book was well maintained but still looked very old and worn. He flipped through the pages reading little snippets of information,

(December 1412 The world isn't flat.) (April 1864 THe President has been shot...)(April 1912 The ship sank, ofcourse I lived, while hundreds died....) (April 1945 The war is over.....) Then he got to a blank page, and pulled out his pen and started writting.~

(June 2007 ---- It has been a few weeks since I arived in Cassis, I have made one really good friend. Belle. She reminds me of my sister, oh how I miss her. Except for a slight headache caused by all the others, I like it here. I can hardly believe it as well.)

~Alastor went to pocket his journal, when it fell from his hand and hit the ground. At that point the book then split into two pieces, thankfully the pages remained.~ "Oh no, Now what?" `Alastor started to climb down the tall tree, when he made it half way down a woodpecker attacked him, he swipped at it and then lost his grip. He fell the remainder of the way all 20 feet bouncing of the limbs, and then smacking the ground next to his book~

[Tiffany]

Tiffany sighed as she raised her hands over her head, She grabbed a low hanging branch and pulled her self up, stretching the tired muscles in her back. She let it go and let her arms swing at her side. She closed her eyes as she walked down the straight path into the forest. She watched the swords of shadow and slivers of light dance across her eyelids as she passed underneath the criss-crossed branches and leaves of the canopy that only let in a little light at various points. She reveled in the heat that covered her like a favorite blanket. It was not stifling but pleasantly humid. She was startled out of her thoughts by a book that fell right in front of her. Her head leaned to the side as she went to inspect the cracked cover of the book. She heard someone speaking from the tree, the owner of the book no doubt. Tiffany was going to wait for him to climb down, but it was evident that gravity had taken him prisoner as he fell and bounced on the tree limbs. It seemed like forever as he fell, Tiffany winced as he hit each branch. He fell face first only a few inches away from the book that had taken the same fall only seconds before. She hurried forward, her content feeling gone, replaced by worry. "Are you okay!" She asked as she reached his side. She looked up to where he had fallen from. "Such a long way up.."

High above the trees there seemed to be a bird. But, was it really a bird. Who knew but the tall, blond-haired peaceful girl walking between the trees. She had a smile as her lavender eyes looked upon the winged figure. IT swooped down revealing Roxanna who landed softly and smiled. " You've gotten better, R.A" Praised the older of the too, Valerie. Her dress was that white one, halter-toped and short to her midthigh. Hair was kept in tight curls to her chin.

" Really? Good! I've Bee-" She stopped as she watched the boy crash to the ground and raised a brow. While she stood there confused a girl had scurried over to check on the young man. Along with that girl came the placid and sweet Valerie. Her eyes of soft purple looked a bit alarmed as she looked to Tiffany.

" Is he alright?" She asked softly. She didn't lower herself to her knees until the dress hanging from her slender and pale neck grew long to her ankles. Then she lowered herself carefully, not wanting to hurt the boy.

~He slowly started to awake. He couldn't feel his legs. His back was broken in a few places. The impact with the ground had broken many bones and knocked him out. His sense hit him hard as he awke, he could feel that there were others close to him. His face still planted in the ground, he tried to speak.~ "M....My b.bo...book...." ~He could now feel and hear the bones in his back regenerations and moving back into place. He moved his hands slightly feeling around for his book, but he grabbed onto Tiffany's foot, and tryed to pull his head, his neck was still stiff.~

Tiffany rocked back on her heels and gave the girl a sad look. She didnt think it looked good for him. His body seemed unnaturally twisted. Bones were definitely broken, and she wouldnt have been suprised if his back and been severely broken. She heard him mummble something, though it was hard to make out, for his face was still planted in the ground. "Your.....book...." She said slowly. She could not believe her ears. He had just suffered massive injuries due to a very long fall from a very high tree branch..and the first thing he thinks about is a book? The look she gave the boy was one of bewilderment..and scolding. How stupid was it to worry about a book?? She shook her head and stifled a scream when he reached out and grabbed her foot. "You should be still!" She told him firmly, afraid he would farther damage his already mangled body. But as she watched , the bones in his back began to move and twist and realign as if they were alive themselves. She backed up a step, though not able to go far, because he still had her foot. "Who are you?" She asked him. She sounded more than a little afraid..this was just not natural..

" She's right you know. Staying still would be a bit better o-" Valerie stopped as she too watched his bones reform and fix themselves. " Well, then, never mind." Valerie added. She sounded a bit shaken at the sight however she didn't take a step back. But, she was wondering who the young man happened to be. If not for Tiffany questioning him just that, Val was ready to do so herself. And when the other gil did come up with a good question, Valerie gave a soft nod, supporting it fully.

" Is everything okay?" Roxanna asked curiously coming closer to see Tiffany step back, and Val's uneasy face. Roxanna was now officially confused. One girl, who she didn't really know, was looking as if she saw a ghost or something. Her sister seemed to be unsure of what to do and there was a guy on the ground mumbling about a book. Could it get any more complicated? And just who were these two other people? Roxanna wanted to know and being who she was, was going to ask rather bluntly. And did. " Who are you two?" Came the rather confused and simply stated question.

~Alastor felt anothers pressance. He then gripped the girl's foot just little harder, not nearly enough to hurt her, but enough to show that he was going to be ok. His neck had healed enough for him to lift and turn his head. He could only see the knee's of the girl whose foot he was clutching, but he could also see the other two , he had seen them before, but never talked to them. Tears started to form now.~ "My book? Where is it? It is one of the few things I have left in the world." ~Still unable to feel his legs due to most of the healing that need to be done was in his back, he started to pull him-self forward and up, there was a pop, the lowest vertibre in his back had just healed and there was a little feeling in his legs now, his foot wiggled a little, but there was much pain, because that ment his nerves were heaing as well, he didn't like pain. Not one single bit.~

Tiffany gagged a little when she heard the bone in his back pop. She put a hand to her mouth and turned to the two girls that had walked up to her. She shook her head and took in a deep breath of air. "I could ask you the same thing. But my name is Tiffany..And if I dont know who he is." She said pointing down the now crawling boy. "But it seems that the only thing he cares about it the book." She moved her hand to the book that had dropped before the boy. She felt him squeeze her foot tighter. She tugged it out of her grasp, now fully creeped out by the boy. She walked over to the book and picked it up carefully. The cover was cracked and looked very old. The paper was crisp..old as well..The writing was hard to make out at first, but what she could tell made her look at the boy again. "What is this? The last possession you have left? This cant be originally yours..its too old..and your just a kid.." She flipped casually through the pages and she became more and more convinced that the book was either a fake..or.. she looked back at him and raised her eyebrows. "Who are you?..." She asked again. This time it was a whisper and it was doubtful..and scared.

" It's rude to read someone else's book." Roxanna said as if she were defending the boy. She looked at Tiffany a bit upset that she so blatently picked up the article the boy wanted so badly and just read it like it was nothing. But the back that had popped seemed to catch her attention. " Coool." Cooed the 15 year old as she looked in amazement at the boy. He had fallen from god-knows where and seemed to break every bone in his body and was standing up after. " Oh, yeah. I'm Roxanna!" Came her hurried add on as she looked about wildly to see if they were on Punk'd or something.

" I wonder." Valerie began. However, she shook her head of thoughts that may not be appropriate at the time. Thoughts about looking at the book herself, however that would of come off as her being a snoop. Valerie didn't want that. First she wanted to know who the boy was and clearly why he was on the ground. " I'm Valerie. But, who are you?" The final statement, well question, had been pointed at Alastor.

~Just a little more and Alastor would be fully healed~ "My name? It is Alastor Evans. I'm not surprised you don't knoe me, I have only been here for a month, and I harldly talk to anyone." ~He shifted his postion, as his nerves reattached bursts of pain shot up his spine, he flinched.~ "My book, if you please?" ~He held up his quaking hand.~ I dropped it from up there, I dropped it by accident when I was puting it away. I then started to climb down to get it, and I fell about half way." ~He could stand now, he pulled himself up with all the energy he could muster, and finaly stood before the three of them.~ "Ofcourse it is mine, I can still remember the shop I bought it in...." ~He then sow that she only had half the book in her possesion.~ "Where is the rest of it?"

Tiffany stopped looking at the book and turned to the girl that had stated it was rude to read someone elses book. She raised one eyebrow as she turned her liquid blue eyes back to the book. She closed it gently. She heard Alastor talking and raised her head. She went to hand the book to him, but paused when she heard him ask where the other half way. It was a rather hefty book, and she hadnt noticed anything missing. She flipped the book over and realized that the back cover was indeed missing. She looked around, but did not see it. She handed him the part that she held. "You are not as young as you look." She stated simply as she walked around the trees surrounding the one he had fallen out of. "And the other part is not within my view. " She said that and stopped. "Well..no..it couldnt be..could it?" She asked as it dawned on her that maybe not all of the book had hit the ground? She looked up slowly, craning her head to see the upper branches. She pointed a hand slowly. About halfway in the tree branches..was a part of a book. It was caught between two closely grown together thick branches. "It must have hit it on the way down, with the front and back cover on each side of one of the branches. The other branch was too close to allow the cover to flip over the branch and follow the rest of the book down.." She said making hand movements to display what she thought had happened. She looked back to Alastor. "Im not much of a climbing person." She turned to the other two girls. "Either of you feel like climbing a tree?"

" I'll do it!" Roxanna sounded so eager as she walked towards the tree. With a smile she waved her fingers at them and looked down. From the souls of her shoes a large clear crystal took form and began to bring her up to the book. With careful hands she plucked it from the place it had been wedged. " This thing, right?" She called down, holding the book up a little so they could see it. Slowly, the crystal began to lower to the ground, and settled there softly. The crystal sunk back into her body and she smiled as she held the book out. " Here ya go, Alastor!" Smiled the girl, a happy little look on her face as she did so.

Valerie smiled a bit unsure of what to say. Her sister had retrieved the other half of the book for the young man. That seemed good enough. Should the oldest of the Faust sisters say a few words to him or remain silent. Well, her mind voted for the silent for now and she smiled as her sister waited for the boy to take the book from her hands.

~Thank you very much.~ "He then gave a polite bow to the kind girl, and then took the remaining half of the book from Tiffany.~ "It is ruined, after being so careful for so long, now look at it." ~He then placed to two halves togather, and ripped of a strip of his tatered shirt and tied them together.~ "I guess I'll have to get a new one and start copying then over."
