Kneeling at the verge of the lake, Nell casually dipped a finger in the calm waters, feeling the vibrating rims wash out around her fingers. Swirling her fingertips in the water, Nell felt at ease with herself, and fully content. A small sigh escaped her lips and rang out clearly in the moisture-tense air around her. She felt the coolness of it all seep into her skin and give her slight chills. Smiling, Nell stood up and began walking at a leisurely pace around the lake. Maybe she'd meet a friend here, though she doubted it strongly, there was still a possibility.

Killian slowed to a stop as he saw someone already at his place at the lake. As the girl stood and began to walk away, he decided he might as well go and meet whoever she was. Whistling at the bird on his shoulder, the little white bird flew off his shoulder and towards the girl, flying around her head. Killian had decided this would be a good way to start a conversation. "I hope you're not afraid of birds..." He said quietly, walking up beside her and eyeing the little bird, who seemed to be enjoying itself.

Nell chuckled at the bird and offered her finger as a perch. No, she said, bird's are fine creatures. So beautiful. She told the stranger softly. Her voice, though soft and quiet, could be heard clearly in the silent of the atmosphere around the lake. Is...is it yours? She asked him tentatively. Nell was naturally shy around strangers, men especially, and so a rosey colour grew upon her moonlike pale cheeks as she twisted slightly to see her companion.

Killian smiled softly as he watched the bird perch on the girl's outstretched finger. "No. This bird belongs to no one. He chooses who he stays with." Killian looked over at the girl. "That's my power. I summon birds, and this bird has always come to me, ever since I was little." Killian shrugged and stuck out his hands. "He doesn't even have a name. Oh. I haven't introduced myself, have I?" Killian stopped walking and smiled. "I'm Killian."

To match her new 'friend' you could call him, she stopped also. Letting the bird hop onto her shoulder, she petted him for a few moments before introducing her own self. My name is Nell. She told him as a smile showed itself at the very corners of her mouth. Searching in the dark for a talkable subject she began walking again, the flush still on her face. So your gifts are with birds? That's nice... She said softly as she stopped herself from shying away from him. Mine are water. That's why...that's why I'm by the lake. Nell immediatly chatised herself for telling so much to this stranger. Though she knew his name and he seemed nice enough to be a friend he was still a stranger.

Killian noticed Nell's face flushed slightly and smiled, eyebrows raising ever so slightly. "Water? That's a cool power." Letting his hands fall to his side, Killian began to walk again, slowly, waiting for Nell to maybe walk beside him. Though, she seemed shy. It wouldn't suprise Killian if he was making her nervous. He wasn't used to talking to people. Raising a hand in front of him, Killian whistled lightly, then watched as two blue birds flew towards him, then landed on his shoulder. Turning to Nell, he smiled lightly. "If these are the two bluebirds that I met a while ago, then I believe they enjoy water very much. Would you like to see if i'm correct?"

Nell's eyes lit up somewhat as she nodded her head. But...how? She asked skeptically. The birds were beautiful, no doubt, but birds were flying creatures, so how could they like water?

Ooc: No problem. =]
Killian smiled. "Use your imagination. How to find out if a bird likes water or not? For example, I once met a boy who controlled storms, I asked him the same thing. He made it rain on the poor birds, but they enjoyed it. What can you do?" He said the last part quietly. He wanted to see what she could do. The two blue birds watched the humans quietly, ruffling their feathers now and then, showing their slight impatience. The white bird chirped lightly, nuzzling Nell's cheek in encouragement.

Stroking the feathers of the bird perched on her shoulder, the young woman bit her lower lip. Nell, aware that they were all watching her, closed her eyes and took a deep breath. The lake's surface began to tremble, then quake, like it was in a mini hurricane. Shoots of water, geyser-like, shot up and drenched all of them, making Nell's dress stick to her legs. Her eyes opened slightly, now a more blue-ish color to match the lake's depth, as she willed it to keep heaving up more water. Looking to Killan, she asked, Like that? The water kept coming up and down in torrents until she shook her head against it. Nell looked down shyly again, aware she had been showing off slightly.

Killian laughed, shaking his head so that water flew off of it, then smiled, watching the blue birds reactions. They both had flown up happily, dripping water everywhere, whistling their own, content song. "That was perfect. I guess that these are the birds I met a while back." Killian laughed again as the white bird flew into the air angrily. "I forgot to mention that he doesn't like getting wet. But there's no harm done. He forgives easily." As if on cue, the white bird flew back to Nell's shoulder and ruffled his feathers, getting the last of the water off.

She smiled, and whispered a quick 'sorry' to the creature. Reaching down to gather the bottom hem of her dress, she run it out as she shook her head hastily. Straightening up, Nell chuckled. I see that. Um, I forgot to ask earlier, but why are you at the lakeside? She started her calming trek around the odd-shaped pool of water, but this time, she waited for Killan to get started to she could walk beside him.

Killian stared over the lake, silent. The white bird whistled softly, and the two bluebirds chirped a good-bye, before flying away, towards another part of the lake. "Why i'm here..." Killian said softly, tilting his head to the side slightly. "I'm not sure." Killian turned his head and stared at Nell, then at the bird on her shoulder. "He wanted me to." To explain himself better, Killian crossed his arms and turned to face Nell. "Sometimes that particular bird asks me to do things. Not through speaking, but by the way he acts. I came because he was acting as if he wanted to come to the lake, which confused me because he doesn't like water. That's why I came. To see what it was he wanted. But now I think I can see why." Killian looked back at the white bird, sitting contently on Nell's shoulder, urffling his feathers every now and then.
