Terren would usually skim his fingers through the water on each side, but he had promised not to let go. He watched the water fly by. Each time they breathed out, the carbon dioxide bubles rose from the top of the air bubble. Terren looked down and noticed the lake floor was getting close. If they didn't have the water slow their fall, it would be like hitting the ground after jumping off the school. "Hold your breath for just a second," Terren said, "you can trust me." I think, he said in his mind.

Michella's fear started to highten at that moment. Her eye's grew big as she saw the bottom of the lake near her feet. 'OMG... we're going to hit... why ain't this thing slowing down... I can't... if I hold my breath I can't breath...' In her mind, her words were going a million miles fast, she looked at the bottom then back at Terren. 'I trust him... i trust him... i trust him....' She didn't say anything, but closed her eye's and held her breath...

Seeing Michella take a deep breath, Terren made the air bubble dispurse, dropping them into water for less than two seconds. Their feet touched the bottom and the air bubble returned. It was tricky since he had to control the pressure of the water and the air. One mistake and they could be crushed. And one mistake on the way up and their lungs could explode. There was no margin for error, yet Terren was confident. Still holding onto Michella's hand, Terren looked around at the lake floor. "Having fun?" he asked, sure she would never want to do this again, but hoping she was enjoying it for the time being.

Michella felt the water rush over her as the bubble disappeared for the moment and return the next. Exhailing deeply she realized that there was air around her. She took a deep breath and opened one eye, then the other. Had it worked? Did her faith and trust in him pay off? For the time, it did. She relieved Terren with, "yeah... That was scary! Oh my god.... this was awsome." SHe said looking below her seeing the dirt at the bottom of the lake. Scattered around was alot of rocks and a few sticks that the wind had blown off into the lake. Looking up, the lighter colored water showing sunlight. It was truely amazing with the abilities that Terren had. He helped her get over her fear. She didn't let go of his hand, but looked at him instead. "If you was to poke your hand out to touch the sand, it wouldn't pop would it?" She asked out of pure curiosity.

"Read a lot of scuba diving info?" Terren said, "no, It wouldn't. But if we raised from the high pressure down here to the low pressure up there with full lungs..." Terren paused for a second, thinking of the best way to phrase it, but he couldn't think of anything. "Our lungs would expand and explode." He shrugged as if it were nothing. "But I'm keeping the air depressurised, so we'll be fine." He smiled. Did she trust him? If not, she'd be asking to go up soon. Or did his explanation of the dangers of rising make her want to stay down longer? Terren had a long way to go before predicting human behavior. He started to walk along the floor, looking at small golden rocks he had left earlier, still holding Michella's hand. The air pocket followed them along. Suddenly, two small fishes shot into the bubble and started flopping at their feet.

(I have to go soon....)
"No, I've not read nothing about it... I didn't know about that..." Had her ambition to venture deeper got her in deeper than she would like? She now had fears of coming out of the deep water, but him saying everything would be okay, it only calmed her a little bit. She started to fully trust him. Michella kept her footing exact with him, following him, making sure that the bubble of air wouldn't leave her. "AHh...." Jumping with fear at the fish that she didn't expect, she then began to laugh. "Oh dear... that scared the bejeezes out of me..." She inspected the part in the bubble that the fish came through. It didn't pop.

Terren scooted the fish out of the bubble and back into the water and they quickly swam away. He looked back at Michella. "Happens all the time," he said, "but I've never let a single fish die." He paused for a moment, thinking that he probably should stop talking about death. She was probably nervous enough as it is. Terren pointed to the right of them. "Look," he said. he was pointing to a school of fish swimming in a circle, their scales catching and reflecting every glimmer of light that could reach them.

Michella watched as the fish quickly left the bubble as fast as they had entered. Hearing that he never let a fish die was nice. "I bet the fish were as scared of this bubble like I was at first...." Michella commented on it, but quickly added to it. "but, I don't think I'm as scared anymore. It's actually very peaceful down here. Do you do this often?" Just about the time she said that she looked to where Terren pointed. Catching a glimpse of a school of shimmering fish, her eye's lit up. She had been missing out for so long, because of a fear, and now she was getting to experience the wonders of the underwater world. It was everything Terren said it was. Amazing. "Would you mind, if we go back up... I think I actually miss dry land..." She gave him a confused look. "not that I wouldn't mind staying down here.... but..."

"No problem," Terren said. The bottom of the air bubble started to pressurize, pushing them upward in the water. Terren looked around, seeing the exact opposite of their descent. The water sped down. It was like flying. The reached the top of the water and the air bubble dispursed naturally above the water's surface. They landed in the shallow water where their feet could reach the bottom. Terren finally let go of Michella's hand. "I hope you enjoyed it," he said, smiling.

"That was the most amazing experience ever..." Michella looked around at the dry land and the light. THen she looked back at him with a smile. "Thank you... so much." Michella was very grateful to him, but also at herself. She'd done the impossible and she was happy about it. However, without him, it wouldn't never have happened. She spun around in the water creating a wave around her body. "We can do that again sometime, Right?"

"Anytime you'd like," Terren said, "any time at all." In all the years Terren had been at this school, he'd never met anyone like Michella; someone who inspired him and who made him feel like he needed to be strong and like he was strong. He smiled. "Thanks," he said, without explanation. "It's late," he said, looking up as the stars became barely visible. Had they been down for that long? The day flew by.

She followed his eye's up to the sky to see the barely visible stars, and agreed making her way onto the beach. At that moment she wished she had brought a towel of some sort, but didn't say anything about it. "It is late... Wow. Time fly's when your having fun." Making her way on teh beach, her wet feet attracted the sand on them until she reached her sandles putting them on. SHe looked back one more time to admire Terren and how much she'd grown to like him already. He was very sweet and able to accept her fear of water and help her through it. She could have swore she started to blush and turned around as she reached the first tree. "I'll see you tomorrow... Hopefully?" Then she disappeared in the cover of the tree's and headed for the school.

Terren watched her go, then realizing that he should have helped her dry off. At least he made his mistake after their lives were no longer in danger. He at least felt good about that. He dried himself off in his usual way and walked off to his dorm room, admiring the stars on his way.

Michella came out to the lake after leaving the Library. Had she known that Terren would have been there or a guy named Seaheart, she would have forced herself to leave before everything happened. Seaheart had embarressed her infront of Terren, telling him what she thought of him. Her only hopes was that He didn't believe that guy. "Why did he do that... that stupid little... " She cursed him slightly in her head. Something she never was known for. Reaching the sand, she got as close to the water as she could before the water reached her, to sit down. She looked at the water's edge, letting the peaceful sound of the waves sooth her. Nature was an incredible healer, closing her eye's, she brought her legs up, resting her chin on them. In her thoughts, she replayed everything that went on in the library.

Terren approached the lake cautiously. He wasn't sure if Michella would feel uncomfortable. He decided he'd just go and if she seemed to not like his presence, he'd leave. He walked up behind her. "Hey," he said, "I'm sorry about that guy in there. Some people have to learn not to run their mouths." He noticed she was thinking and hoped he hadn't upset her.
