Chills ran up Dementia's spine as Seaheart whispered into her ear, and she felt his hot breath on her neck. She knew he would have his way. She knew she would tell him willingly. And it wouldn't be what he wanted to hear. She didn't reply immediately, instead devoted her attention to watching Fleta with scrutinizing eyes as she hurriedly and uncomfortably unpacked, seeming eager to get out.
"Enjoy life while you can, Fleta. You're gonna need it," she called after her with more than just a hint of wickedness in her voice when her roommate started to leave.
Have fun, huh? Yeah, right. What was she going to say? Hey, Seaheart. Guess what! There is someone else! Yeah, no kidding! It's like an older version of Dariusz back from the dead! Yeah, still as hot as ever.
She turned back to Seaheart, settling once more into his arms. "Now, there's no point in going back to the garage, is there? Where were we again? Oh, yes. Mercy. Death. A significant other." She lay down on the bed as she spoke, her short hair splaying out on the covers as she looked up at Seaheart's face.
"You don't have to worry. I don't love you enough to kill you. Yet," she told him. Her manner was joking, but contained an evident underlying seriousness that was sincere. She lightly laid her arms on his neck, and played with his hair with her fingers. "Now, you were asking me about someone else. Are you jealous? Worried? Threatened by me? You're too perceptive, in fact," she murmured, averting his eyes.
"I'm going to tell you. I'm telling you because you don't deserve to be lied to. I'm telling you because of the connection that we have. You want the truth? You really do?" she turned her head so that she could look at him straight in the eyes. "Yeah. There is someone else, someone who hurts me and torments me down to my very core, who overloads me with guilt and pain. His name is Arkady Belmont. I should call him Dariusz Reincarnate. That was his name, by the way. Dariusz. The name of the only man I ever truly loved. The name of the man I killed because of it. I pine for him, I want him so much just because of that stupid resemblance, because it's like I've been given a second chance at him to redeem myself. But you don't have to worry about anything. I can't even bear to look at him because of it. Besides, I wouldn't give you up. I wouldn't give this up. I'm too selfish for that."

Seaheart was glad as the girl left. He found her very annoying for some reason. But he felt he would have much fun with her in the future. Scaring her.....ahh. Striking fear in random people was practically a hobby to him...well, if it wasn't. it would be now! His thoughts about torturing the random girl were cut off with Dementia. She obviously had alot to say. He could tell these kind of things. He didn't know how...well, he had extra vision which helped detect nervous features, but also, it was just something like Ven, Dementia, Shade, Death, Epic, and himself just knew. Oh well. She then said she didn't love him enough to kill him. It wasn't he was disappointed with that but....she said she loved him. Wow. Holy crap, wow. He just found it...comforting, relieving, being loved again. He wasn't jealous or worried, but...he knew something was amiss. He wanted to know, had to know. See if this could be a full scale problem, see if he could talk this out with her, get it straight, be nice and sweet. Ha. Bull. He just wanted to know if he would have use some good old medievil torture devices. He listened to her explain about Arkady, then replied. "Fine. I....I understand. I can't say....that I would have some unsure thoughts if I saw Yuna. But....we just have to deal with it. We both have plenty of problems with love, and unfortunately for us, either our loves are alive, or have come back in another form to haunt us. For people like us, love is tested. That's.....our life. While I won't start asking questions, torturing, probing.....yet, I'll leave him alone. But I'll still be monitoring both of you nonetheless. I'm sure you'd do the same if Yuna was here?" He said using the last parts amused, but also getting the message across he meant every word. (The whole Yuna thing is funny because she was here at one point. )

Dementia pulled Seaheart down after he spoke, gently tugging on his neck until his body complied, so that he was lying beside her. She snuggled up against him on her side so they were lying like spoons, not saying a word yet. She was contemplating what he had just said, letting the full meaning sink in. She toyed with his outside hand, pulling it over her slight body and brushing her nails across his open, relaxed palm.
"I swear that I'll be yours, unconditionally," she promised in a whisper. "No matter what happens, no matter what I feel, as long as I love you and you love me, I will never leave you. I'm making sure you keep your promise to me about finding how to live forever. An eternity should be more than enough to learn to feel that true love again. We're already getting started, aren't we?"
As she spoke, Dementia's fingers slid into Seaheart's, holding his hand tightly. She pressed her lips to the top of his hand, and leaned back with a light sigh, nuzzling his neck with her head.
"But you have to swear to me one thing in return: that you will never lay a hand on Arkady no matter what. Monitor him all you want, threaten him all you want, insult him all you want, but you must never follow through with a threat, never strike him, never do anything to cause him physical pain, or the true, harsh mental agony that I know you can inflict. And you will not say a word to him about me or my feelings, which I think is the easiest part of the bargain. I know you will understand. I would, if Yuna were here. Can you promise me that much?"

Seaheart was pulled down, lying next to Dementia. He stared at her a bit, glad to be beside her. She then started to speak, and while he was taking in the promises she would fulfill, and the one he also had to keep. He then thought about Arkady. Now came the hard part. Where would he plant the cameras in his room, how small, where his diary might be kept, how to get into the Doc's files to learn his powers and background, the people close to him he could use as hostages.....
He was snapped out of his plans when she tsarted to say he couldn't hurt him. Well...that was certainly quite a hard part. "OK...I can't really....I probaly wouldn't insult him except perhaps in a subtle or joking way but...I'm monitoring him. OK, I'm syaing I can't promise not to hurt him. If I see him gettign too comfy or tries anything, then things will get ugly. They'll be....chaotic."
He said referring to the devil inside of him. "I won't tell ihm how you feel, but I won't just strike him down for you. If he does look like an older version of the guy you love, it could be percieved as a bad omen. I have a feeling he isn't safe. Don't take this from your boyfriend, but from a man with years of experience. If I find anythign wrong, I will investigate deeply, and kill him if needed. You should never let emtoions get in the way of the battlefield. My life is a battlefield." He said solemnly, then got up, heading for the door, sensing she owuldn't hvae liked what he just said.

Dementia didn't move as he got up, only vaguely noticing the lack of warmth that his body gave to her as he left. She was occupied with his words.
A bad omen? What did he mean, a bad omen? What, that she was going to just end up killing him? That wouldn't be bad at all for Seaheart. It's not like his advent was going to make her relapse back into the way she was before, was it? No. That couldn't be. But what was it, then? What was he worried about? She wanted so badly to know what was going on in his mind, but she wasn't about to ask him. She knew in advance the answer he would give her. And it would be a refusal.
"Dammit, Seaheart, what do you mean kill him?!" she yelled, sitting up straight on her bed with a rapid motion. The springs squeaked as she moved. "How am I supposed to keep my promise when you're not holding up your side of the bargain, huh? I'm demanding this of you. You can't lay a hand on him. I don't care of you f**ing hit me instead, warn me however you like about him, whatever. But I won't let you hurt him. If anyone hurts him, it's going to be me, and me alone. This is my problem and I don't want you getting f**ing involved!" Her eyes were narrowed in determination, determination to make sure that her words reached not just his ears, but his mind.
"I'll let you monitor him. I'll let you monitor me. I don't care what the hell you do, as long as it's something harmless like that. You're not to let your presence be known to him, or your true purpose. I don't care what you say, I'm not changing my mind about this. All's fair in love and war? Your life's a battlefield? Well this isn't your life, Seaheart. It's mine. It's mine, and mine alone. We're playing by my rules. I think I'm being quite generous, in fact. I'm not stopping you from doing anything but hurting him, when I sure as hell could, and you know it. You know it too well. That's why you're so worried about it. Because you know that you couldn't stop me if I made a choice to be with him. I promised you that I would stay with you as long as I loved you and you loved me, so long as you didn't hurt Arkady. And yet you're going to go against that promise, against that assurance that I will not leave your side. You're the one who's being stupid here, Seaheart. Because all the hurt in the world that you could inflict upon him would not stop me from being with him if I wanted to leave you, and would not bring me back. It's your choice, Seaheart. But think about what each side entails. Are you going to choose to let yourself be blinded by hatred and possibly lose sight of what you love? It's your decision. Choose wisely."

He listened to her, having heard this all before. Not htis exactly, but making a bad decision. Making choices which made you lose more rather than gain. He truly did not care whatsoever. It never made him cry, and he wouldn't cry now. He never regretted what he said or was afraid of what was to come. But now she was being an imbecile. He turned his head slightly toward her.
"My dear, do you think after all that you just said will stop me? You know me, and I don't go back on my word. Now, your just like all the others. I say something as a warning, of what might be to come, or what I might just have to do, yet you think it's what I promise to do. I'm giving wanrings, preparing us for the worst. And now that you have me in your life, I shall always be involved.
This Arkady man probaly has more than meets the eye. I will look into him, and then depending on who or what he is, I shall take the action I see fit which could be either killing him, or leaving him alone, more monitoring. It's really just depending on what he's done. I shall not let a person I may come to love be hurt, or fall into something that's out of her league, something she can't comprehend." He said softly and calmly as if giving a gentlemanly refusal, but also tellign her she was like many others he had met.

Her mouth dropped open as he compared her to the rest of society, and her eyes met his in a painful glare. "I'm not like all the others, Seaheart. The others can't comprehend what a warning really is. I know the full meaning behind it. You might do it? A maybe is both a yes and a no. It's not a commitment. Neither is a warning, and I'm telling you the consequences of that yes in your warning, in your might, in your maybe. I'm preparing us for the worst."
She got up off the bed and approached Seaheart slowly, standing next to him, touching his shoulder with a wary hand. Her eyes were laden with disapproval laced with tenderness. "I don't want you to protect me, Seaheart. I don't want you to do anything for my benefit. I won't allow it. Do it for your peace of mind, fine. Do it because you just want to make damn sure that I never get away from you. But I will stop you if you're doing it for me, no matter what you're trying to protect me from. Even if you think it's out of my league, you'll only make me weaker by pushing me to avoid it. There's no such thing as working for the benefit of others, and I will not let myself be the recipient of pity or help by the stronger because of my need, and nothing else. That's the worst sin of all, and I'm not going to allow myself to be weak or live in a delusion. Please don't make me." Her voice was a cold command, softened only with the emotions that she felt for Seaheart. She couldn't resist bringing her free hand onto his other shoulder, sliding down his body until her hands met across his chest, embracing him from behind. She buried her head into his unyielding shoulder and pressed her lips to his neck.
"So swear to me on the love you have for me that this is for yourself and yourself alone, and that you will never do anything for anyone else's gain but yours. Including mine. If you truly care for me, which I sure hope you do, then you will leave me to face anything that I must face, no matter how hard or painful it would be to me. Please," she begged.
Her voice dropped low to a whisper in his ear. "I love you, and I just want to make sure you know that. You're the only one. What I feel for Arkady is just want, longing for what I had lost. He himself means nothing. It is only what he symbolizes, and that is long gone. You're everything. Don't forget that."
