Was her sigh too loud? It was library after all, and people were supposed to be quiet in libraries, but Chesna sighed anyway. She glanced up; what time was it? She couldn't see a clock anywhere. Chesna had disguised herself behind a book in a remote corner of the library, and she had slept. She couldn't go back to her own dorm because she would have needed Galilee to show her where it was. She had considered going into a random dorm and taking a nap there, but the library seemed so much more... legal. So, she had found a book about World War something or other and let herself snooze behind it. Now that she was awake, she was bored. So, she just sighed, put the book about World War whatever away, and looked for something that could actually be interesting. Her eyes scanned the shelves for anything that she could ever possibly be interested in, but she had very little luck.
The library had been a nice place for a quick nap, but for entertainment? Hardly. Even if she could find a semi-interesting book, what were the chances that she would be able to concentrate on it? Every day since their last encounter, Chesna just kept cursing Nashino. He was the worst of the worse, but she still couldn't drive him from her thoughts. She was almost ashamed of herself. She was the most forgiving siren she knew, by far. She tried not to think about their terrible fight. Instead, she occupied herself with memories of being in his dorm room. Before either of them had spoken. Some relationship.

Nashino sat there at the table. by himself. He didn't feel like sitting with any of his friends, for he'd never get this ridiculous assignment done. His silver-white hair acted as a curtian to his face, to any outside viewers. He lifted his hand, rubbing his eyes. Staring down at this book was making Nashino's mind go blank, and his eyes hurt. A deep sigh filled the atmosphere, loud on purpose, which made his friends, who occupied a table that was about five tables down, laugh. They absolutley adored Nashino, it seemed, for they laughed at almost everything he did, even when no one else did.
For some odd reason, Nashino just knew he wasn't about to finish this assignment which was due next period.

Chesna wasn't paying attention to anything else until she heard another sigh and laughing somewhere behind her. Turning her head slightly, still very uninterested in everything, she tried to see who was laughing and at what. She saw the group first and realized that they had been the ones who had laughed, and she also figured that it had been the sigh that had brought it on. Her eyes still moved back though, and then she saw him. Her head instantly snapped back around to the books. Just what was he doing here: following her? It had looked like he was working on something. Was that group full of his friends? No, she decided. They were sitting too far apart. Leave it to Nashino to be anti-social. Chesna let out a rivaling sigh and spotted a book she could possibly enjoy: a hefty volume about mythological creatures.
Pulling the book from the shelf, she carried it gracefully in the crook of her arm, walking past the group. She still didn't know who they were, but she was careful when she walked past them. She really couldn't help the fact that she was wearing a mid-thigh length dress that showed off her shapely legs and shoulders, as well as her feminine curves, but she had taken up a new philosophy. If any one had anything to say about her wardrobe, she was plenty willing to reply with a sweet, 'Bite me.' She sat down at a table between Nashino and his possible friends. Chesna sat the book down and browsed the table of contents. No distractions, she promised herself.

Then, Nashino spotted movement out of the corner of his eye. His crystaline gaze diverted to his group of friends, and just as, Chesna was passing by them. While she passed his friends, they all pointed, and gave a look that read, "Uh-Oh, there she goes!" They hadn't said it, but the looks said it all. Nashino glared at them, and then at her as she took a seat. Out of all places, she sat there. Why? Yup, there she was, in a skimpy dress, walking past a group of guys...Juuust like Chesna. Nashino roleld his eyes at the thought, opening his mouth to speak, "You're just dying for attention aren't you?" He asked, annoyed with her antics on attention grabbing. She was getting it whether she wanted it or not, and it irked Nashino's nerves for some reason. He spoke loud enough to where she could hear him, and his friends too.

Chesna glanced up, already annoyed. Nashino was already trying to annoy her. Well, she wasn't going to let it work. "Dying for attention? I'm reading," she said back, her eyes returning back to the book. "Sorry that I'm just a little too good looking for you to handle. You don't have to look if you can't handle it, and neither do your little friends." She flipped through the pages, having caught a glance of something about merpeople in the table of contents. Chesna had first-hand experience with merpeople. She was interested in seeing how accurate the book was. However, if Nashino and his group planned on adding distractions, there was a possibility that she wouldn't get any reading done. She couldn't believe that Nashino would be so rude about something Chesna had no control of. People were going to look at her no matter what; that was how it was born. She hadn't asked Nashino to stare at her; it just seemed to be a reflex for him, and one that she was already tired of.

Nashino continued to glare, annoyed by her constant attention-seeking ways. The least she could have done was stayed out of his way, out of his sight. she apparently was looking for drama by even nearing ten feet of him. His friends all laughed silently as she had seemingly told Nashino off. "Chesna, there's a thin line between looking good and looking like a prostitute." He didn't it mean it! Well, not all of it anyway. He just wasn't going to be dissed like that infront of his friends, without comming back with something that he knew would hurt the most. As he saw his friends cracking up, he smiled on the inside, and glared at Chesna, ready for any come back she may have.

Chesna sighed, not even looking up at him this time. She flipped the page and muttered, "And I'm sure you'll be the very first one to tell me when I've crossed it, Nashino, but do you mind?" Her eyes ran through the text and Chesna felt almost insulted: half because of the depiction of merpeople in her book and half because Nashino was saying she looked like a prostitute. What sort of lousy prostitute only exposed their arms and legs? Her dress was of a tasteful length with tank-top like straps and practically no cleavage. Since when did showing a bit of knee and elbow make one a prostitute? Or was it just because he was a siren. Well, if Nashino thought she was a prostitute, he was dead wrong. Maybe she had just been an idiot for thinking they could have made it better. Maybe he was just a lost cause after all.

Nashino smiled, shaking his head, looking back down at his work. He knew she wasn't really a prostitute, nor was she dressed like one. Nashino just knew that he wasn't going to be dissed infront of his friends without having giving any rebuttal. But obviously, Chesna thought she was indeed dress like one for she seemed to take it to heart. Why did girls have to be so damn sensitive?!? He had to remember there for a second that he was still mad at her. He turned his head back toward her, "I'm surprised you're this close to me, I mean, considering what w h o r e I am." he said sarcastically.

Chesna considered her reply for a moment: she could merely repeat what he had said, and it would be sarcastic. But, she instead closed her book softly. "You know, I'm surprised too," she said, standing up from her chair with the book in her arms. Calmly, she moved over a table, one further from Nashino. There, she sat down again, opened her book again, and began to read once more. She didn't mean that. She had liked where she was sitting and enjoyed it's proximity to the boy, but she had to play his game. Even she was curious as to how his friends were reacting. She hadn't even seen what they'd done when she'd walked by, but she wasn't some whiny little girl and she wasn't going to act like it in front of Nashino's friends. Or in front of Nashino. There was a difference between hurt and whiny.

Nashino eyed her as she stood, and moved closer. His friends had a confused look upon thier face. He knew what Chesna was doing. He didn't know her that well, but he knew that she was the type to say 'two can play at that game'. But then again, what game was he playing? Despite his sarcastic tones, he was serious, he was surprised, seeing how she'd walked away after insinuating that he was that. "Oh, I see. You're going to gradually make your way further away from from my table by table hopping, and then eventually end up at their's, right?" He didn't wait for a reply, "And then, all the while, you're wondering, 'I wonder if those group of boys back there are shocked or amazed at my courage to approach them in such unorthadox ways." He'd figured her out, and wasn't surprised if she answered with a simple 'Yup, you're right,' or a 'youre a smart one nashino'. He just wouldn't be surprised

Chesna shrugged. "Actually, I'm just wondering how far away I have to be before you shut the hell up," she said, completely indifferently. "If I have to sit at their table, then so be it. But you really should notice, Nashino, that you're the one paying the most attention to me here." And, back to the book. Chesna calmly flipped the page, revealing a page that dealt with nagi. This brought on Chesna's curiosity. She had never met a nagi before, but given the book's account of merpeople, she didn't think she could trust it's account of nagi. She looked it over, reading some details, and ignoring Nashino. She wasn't going to fight with him here, in public. Their issues were ones to be handled between the two of them. Right now, this was just a show for his friends. They could argue violently later.

Nashino found a great smile upon his face as she spoke, loving how she cursed, it seemingly being so out of character for her. He thought is was adorable and cute at the same time. "Actually..." He pointed to his friends who had all been gazing at Chesna, some standing to see what she had been reading. Nashino dropped his hand, diverting his attention to his work. He realized that he had more important things to do than to worry about what some girl was going to do. If he was that important for her to talk to, then she'do it here, no matter if in public or not. But if she was too ashamed to simply say what she clearly had to say infront of a few people, then apparently the relationship she thought could be wasn't going to be much.

Glancing over her shoulder, Chesna was half-shocked and half-mortified. She had never seen people be so blunt about gaping at some one... Well, actually, she saw it often, but not in a large group like this. She stared back at them, wondering if it would stop them. Turning back to her book, she pushed it shut again. Finally, she ignored it. She stood up, walking quickly over to Nashino's table, and she sat down across from him. She would rather put up with his insults than with his creepy friends. She could easily insult him back. None of his friends were worth staring at. Looking across the table though, she couldn't stop herself from thinking that Nashino was worth staring at. she wondered if he knew that. "Nashino..." she said, starting to say something important. But she stopped herself. She didn't want to know how he would react yet. "Your friends are creepy."

Nashino didn't look up at Chesna as she sat down, and began to laugh as she commented on his friends. He gave them a thumbs up without even looking. They knew what they were doing, and so far, a plan that wasnt even a plan had worked out smoothly. Honestly, they weren't like that, they'd just been acting. Nashino's next words came directly after his silently laughter subsided, his head lifting to gaze up at Chesna, "And I'm what you call a w h o r e, and you still talk to me. Does that make you a hypocrite or something? You know, you won't talk to creepy people or w h o r e s one minute, which they are completely different from you, so you say, and the next ,you do." Now, he wasnt showing off for his friends, but it was a built in character trait for Nashino to make certian things difficult for certian people.

Chesna saw what Nashino was doing, and she wasn't going to fall for it. He wasn't going to make her angry. She wasn't sure of it, but Chesna convinced herself that this was just an act. He didn't mean a word of it; he was only trying to impress his creepy friends (as Chesna believed they were still very creepy). So, with a smooth smile and a simple tone, she replied, "You call me a w h o r e and still talk to me. I just thought that maybe I should returned the favor." It was tempting to put an 'I'm sorry' at the end of that sentence, and perhaps a 'I didn't mean it,' but she waited. There would be a time for that; a time that Nashino didn't throw a scalding insult at her. That would be the time. Then, she would try. However, she couldn't help but wonder what reaction it would receive.
