Jake walked into the library, already bored even though he came for entertainment. He strode over to one of the book cases and scanned the titles on the shelf. There really wasn't much 'reading' material, at least the kind he liked. A few minutes later, he found a book good enough to spark his interest. He took it from the shelf and sat in one of the library's table. He opened the book, and let his mind wander aimlessly into the pages.

Alyx entered the library, scanning the shelves for a good read. She grabbed a large black book and dragged it over to the table that Jake sat at. Dropping it on the table with a loud thud, she flinched as the sound echoed. "Ah, th-that a good book?" Alyx whispered nervously as she sat. 'He's gonna yell at me,' she thought anxiously. 'He's gonna drag me out of here and yell at me for being an idiot and dropping it on the table.'

Jake flinched as well at the slamming book, but then again, that's what you get for reading in a supposed-to-be quiet place. He looked up to see a girl, seeming a bit nervous as she sat down. "Well, I've only just started, so I'm only in the 'awakening' chapters... but other than that, it sounds decent so far." Jake said, and then looked at the book she had slammed. "You must have been pretty excited to read that when you slammed it."

"Not really," Alyx murmured. "It's mostly informational stuff." She opened the book and began reading the first page. Sharks have a sixth sense that... Her head dropped down on the book with a very soft thump, small snores emitted from her mouth.

An eyebrow up, he rose his head over the body, wondering if she was alright. "Um... hello?" Jake asked her, now getting out of his chair, and then began to poke her head. It wasn't very polite to sleep in the library... especially only reading the first page. "Are you okay?" He asked her again.

"Hmm?" Alyx mumbled, her head rising off the page. "Oh." She sat up quickly, her cheeks slightly flushed. "Maybe this book really isn't the one for me," she whispered, trying to pick up the heavy book. Taking a deep breath, she heaved it up off the table and over to the shelf. "Crap," she muttered softly, "I don't think I can get it up there."

"Here, allow me." Jake said. He grabbed the book from her hand and looked at the spot it belonged. He easily lifted his arm to the spot and pushed it in. "There's the thing about factual books: if you like them anytime fine, but if you only do them for a reason... I suggest not reading them unless ou really want to." Jake said to her, putting on a small grin.

"Yeah, well, yah see," she babbled quietly. "It looked interesting. But it turned out not to be." She dragged a finger along the spines of some books and spotted a smaller, much more interesting book. The subject? The Beatles, you sillies. "Now this one looks interesting," Alyx whispered with a grin.

Jake looked at the title. "Well, if you like the Beatles, then it should be interesting, don't you think? My book sparks my interest a bit, so I'm more willing to cling to it than that shark book you attempted to read." Jake said as he returned to his barely read book on the table and began to read its woven words upon the page.

Alyx returned to the table as well, sitting down carefully and quietly this time. The book opened with a small crack, and she assumed it was a new book that she had in her hand.

Jake looked up to see the new book. "Well, then, that might be interesting... a new book means a new adventure to be told and a tale to be unweaved... or its just another book you randomly picked off the shelf." Jake said as he looked at it some more before going back to his book, though keeping a small bit of his attention on her.

Alyx shrugged, her attention already captured by the book. "Yeah, whatever.." She mumbled, turning the page. Though there was a woman named Eleanor Rigby in Liverpool, she was not the inspiration for the song. Paul simply made up the name. The Father McKenzie in "Eleanor Rigby," was almost called Father McCartney, when Paul first composed the lyrics. However, a search in the phone book yielded the more general name McKenzie. The song has been recorded over 200 times, with interpretations by Diana Ross and the Supremes, Paul Anka, Frankie Valli, the Four Tops, Johnny Mathis, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Vanilla Fudge... Such wonderful, wonderful information.

There were two kinds of books Jake could relate to: mystery and fantasy. This one happened to be mystery, about the death of a kingdom's next-in-line prince, thought to have been murdered by the later crowned uncle. There were probably many clues on the body, but nobody bothered to look when they buried the body.... and to think this was only the first 20 pages.

Alyx usually wasn't into reading informationals, but one of her favorite bands were the Beatles, so it was okay. She had started a paragraph about another one of their songs, Baby You're a Rich Man, when she'd started humming it. The volume grew to above a whisper, but below the indoor voice that your 1st grade teacher encouraged you to use. (Even if you felt like screaming your head off.) Her foot somehow began tapping to the rhythm, though she could've sworn she hadn't told it to.

Jake couldn't help but hear a a hum and a tapping foot below the table, and sure enough, it was the girl's foot. He looked at her and she seemed to be humming too. She must've been having a musical moment... he should know, he gets them all the time... that's why he's banned from rock parties until he gets his act together. He returned to his book, not wanting to ruin her 'moment'.
