Wow. The food in this... 'cafeteria' didn't smell too appetizing... Amir's nose wrinkled as he sat down at one of the long table-bench thingies and set down his tray. Well, the fruit looked and smelled fresh enough, but the scent of these 'meatballs' suggested anything but meat. And the mashed potatoes? Seemed like they'd been sitting in the masher a bit too long... Bleh. And what was with all those human girls sitting there and staring at him? Did he have something stuck to his face? He passed a quick hand over his ravishing features; hmm, nope. So what was it?
It was his mere presence; Amir De Ragan commanded your attention. His posture spoke of an inhuman self-surity; every movement was a deliberate statement of strength and beauty. And power. Amir's very being emanated a puissance that touched upon the most primal instinct in all of us; it practically screamed at you: Here be a predator. It radiated from his every pore. His tawny skin spoke of an individual who spends much of his time exposed to the elements; corded muscle could be discerned beneath the beaded silk of his shirt. Lean, rock-hard thighs were obvious through the form-fitting tanned doeskin of his trousers. And although they jangled with numerous bracelets and rings, his hands were sinewy and long-fingered; one could tell they were hands that could shatter bone and thread the eye of a needle with little difficulty. And those eyes! Framed by luscious auburn locks that touched his chin in length, their caramel depths held a feral glint; one that could subdue weak men and beguile women with a glance. Gold flecked the amber irises, adding further mettle to his fierce gaze.
But who -or what- is Amir? you may ask, awed by the gravity of this figure. Amir De Ragan is Laguz; a race surrounded by fear and mystery.
Of course, none of this even passed his mind. It... just was.
Fortunately, he'd discovered thus far that none of these humans living in Cassis had even heard of Laguz, and thus far had been able to move about unhindered and unchallenged. It was... nice. And here they all thought he was just another 'Gifted' 18 year old... Ha!
But why did all those human females keep staring? It was putting him off his pie... Mmm, cherry...

((sorry for the occ but....~drools~ )))
Tanya slipped quickly into the cafeteria, not at all interested in the food. She took a drink and thanked the manly cafeteria lady. She giggled and slapped a hand on her mouth. "What in the world?" She muttered. Her? Giggling? The two did not mix! They just didnt! But here she was acting like a common school girl..but look at the object of her interest! The man that had caught her eye, literally made her mouth water. He was the most georgous looking man she had ever...ever ...ah what the hell, a third ever was called for in this situation,...EVER seen in her life! She sat at the far end of his table, secretly casting glances in his direction. She blushed and took a sup of her drink. She was afraid to talk to him..which was weird for her. She wondered what he was like..she died to know what his name was." Hi.." She said quickly before taking another drink of her soda.

Hayleey had been one of the girls, occupying a table directly across from the newly arrived guy. All her fellow feamies just stared at him, taking in his gorgeous, gorgeous, features. Who could blame them?!? As far as Hayleey had seen, he was one of the best things that had happened to Cassis. She diverted her attention to her friends, one of the girls concentrating upon him so hard that she allowed the entire roll to miss her mouth.
The lavendar head shook, citrine oculars falling back upon the guy. Hayleey watched as he ran a hand along his face.He seemed to be older than her, but perhaps not too much older. Hayleey then spotted another female sitting at the end of the table that the highly attractive guy sat at. Reading lips, Hayleey came to conclusion that she's uttered a plain old boring 'hi'. With that said, Hayleey thought that she'd give him a chance to respond to the other girl before aproaching him.
And when she did, she sat down, leaving a table of squeeling girls behind. That all kicked themselves mentally for not having the guts to do it theirselves. Hayleey gracefully took a seat infront of the boy, a small grin playing on her features, "Oh, there's nothing on your face! It's just..." She paused, "It's just people find you highly attractive..." Her grin turned into a slight smile.

"Hi.
While Amir had been circumnavigating the 'meatballs' and picking out the vegetables and eating them, as they were far more palatable then the main course, apparently one of the females had come closer and intended to strike up a conversation. But... why was she so shy about it? In Goldoa, if someone wanted your company during a meal they just sat down across from you and started talking. This shyness must be a human thing, he figured.
"Hey," he said cheerily, giving her a polite smile and a wave. If she didn't want to come and sit and talk with him as was the polite way to do things, well, that was her prerogitive and he wouldn't question it. He'd been warned by Prince Ladekahn himself to NEVER question the ways of humans. Any Laguz who did so was just asking for trouble.
Shrugging, he went back to his vegetable hunt.
"Oh, there's nothing on your face! It's just... It's just people find you highly attractive..."
Pausing with the fork stuck in a grotesquely large mysteryball -Amir felt that's what the 'meatballs' SHOULD be called!- the Laguz sat up straighter to address the female who had just sat across from him and spoken. Finally! A human who did things properly! And she wasn't all that bad looking, either... For a human, that is. Not that amir could EVER see himself being attracted to a human...
"Oh? Well, that's some good news," Amir said good-naturedly; back home he was considered normal. Highly interested now, he leaned forward on the table and eyed the girl curiously. "Tell me, what about me makes so... attractive, to you hu- err, you people?" He'd almost slipped, but managed to catch himself. Hopefully she wouldn't notice...

Hayleey's citrine eyes scanned the meatball that he had just stabbed with his fork. Uhm yeah, if she were him, she wouldn't be eating it either. Hayleey began to think...That meatball was actually way to large to be a normal meatball...Anywho...He began to speak, and hayleey diverted her attention back to him, rather than the so-called "meatball". She shook her head in agreemeant when he spoke about everyone finding him oh so attractive good news. Hayleey didn't notice it at first, but there was something about him...The way he looked at her. Intensity engulfing his gaze... It was as though his eyes peered right through you. He truley was different.. And he asked what made him so attractive...Did he own a mirror?!?
All of a sudden, a tingling sensation was stirred in the pit of Hayleey's stomach...Maybe it would be harder talking to him than she figured...She wouldnt let it show though.
"Well, you're eyes...They are gorgeous, and intense. Your face and cheekbone/Jawlines are highly defined, and your skin tone is perfect. There's just something mysterious about you that draws people towards you, ya know?"
She found it a challenge to look directly into his eyes, and thatw asnt normal for Hayleey.

Momentarily forgetting where he was, Amir got right into the conversation. His face positively glowed as he replied; "Really? I honestly had no idea!" He then proceeded to study her. "Now then... What I find attractive about you is the fact that you are straight forward and honest. You're fragile, innocent features bely your obvious strength; you must get a lot of people underestimating you, don't you?"
What with how straightforward the human had been, Amir had no difficulty slipping into the abrupt, no nonsense nature of speaking that was common among Laguz. "You're hair is... quite striking, actually. I've never seen that hue before, and it intrigues me. You're eyes, too, are very... alluring? Yes. And quite exotic. Not unlike mine..."
Amir buttoned up. He may have momentarily forgotten himself in the heat of the conversation, but he did remember what he was and where: A lone Laguz in a human world. It wasn't wise for him to talk freely of himself... Even still, this was great! Amir was ecstatic to find a human he could talk to without all the frills and sugar-coated words that humans were so fond of using in their speech.
"Oh, and my name is Amir, by the way. Amir... De Ragan." It wasn't his true last name; just a joke he'd concocted while travelling amongst humans.

A half-assed shy-like chuckle was all Hayleey could utter as he began to point out the features that he found attractive. He was so straight forward, just like her, and she liked someone that could do the same thing she could...But still. Sure, she'd had people tell her that she was beautiful, hot, et-cetera et cetera, but he actually took the time to go into detail, and describe what he liked about her. Wow, and they'd just met. Hayley's citrine optics graced the table's surface out of slight bashfulness.
She thought she was being outgoing and striaghtforward, and the last thing she expected was for him to do the same thing. She was taken back to sum it all up. Wow... Her eyes would eventually, after he finished speaking, travel back up to him, his exotic features being branded into her brain.
"Actually, yes...People do underestimate me...But really, most are stronger than me... And by your looks, Amir, and the vibes you give off from being in your presence, I won't be tricked into believing that you can only simply read minds...There's more to you than that, power wise. Maybe enhanced strength? Or something more, perhaps?"
Hayleey strugged.
"I'm Hayleey, Hayleey Winthrope." She gazed at him, still aware of anything he may have wanted to say, though she didn't stare him directly in the eyes...They were too intense for that.

An expression of slight bemusement graced Amir's ravishing features. "Read minds? I'm not capable of such a feat. I'm not a heron, after all." Whoops. That had kind of slipped out, too... It was widely known among Laguz tribes that many of the heron clan possessed the ability to read surface thoughts. "I'm sure you can hold your own; don't sell yourself short, Hayleey. You'd be surprised what a vody is capable of in a stressful situation," Amir said, trying to change the subject. "As for me... well, I sure as heck wouldn't want to fight me!" He chuckled lightly. "Yes, you are right about one thing; my powers are... more than what they seem." He smiled roguishly. "Judging by my... intensity, as you put it, what would be your guess at what my powers are?" This was turning into a delightful conversation! A part of Amir realized he should be deflecting any and all questions that could give hint to what he truly was, but the Laguz was finding this little game of words and wits irresistable. So what if one little, female human found out what he was? She clearly didn't know what Laguz were, so chances were quite good that she probably wouldn't evem bat an eye. Of course, the safest thing he could do was lie...

Hayleey nodded in agreement at his statement about the surprising things the body could do in a stressed position, adding a "That's true" in. He had said "I'm not a heron, after all.", causing Hayleey to quirk a brow, which apparently she didn't know what that was at all, and had never heard of it. She smiled, laughing slightly, "You know, I don't know what your powers are, but I can tell that your knowledge is deep, and...I dunno!" She smiled. "So. Since we were being straightforward, what are your powers anyway?" A curious expression had been drawn upon her face.

Amir's luscious lips became a flat, inexpressive line. It was only for a moment, then he was all smiles and confidence again. "The power... of the mighty red dragon are... mine to command," he replied cryptically. "Strength, fire, flight... All are slaves to my will." He rubbed the back of his neck and fiddled with the ornate bead tying back some of his hair. He breathed out slowly and said, "Let me ask you a question, first: Does the word 'Laguz' mean anything to you?" ((Sorry it's short; brain-fart ![x_x](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/dead.png) ))

(Tis okay! I have those often XD)
Her chin rested in the palm of her hand as she gazed patiently at Amir. His strong features became even more appeasing to look at by the minute...Wait. Wah? did he ju-did he just say...Woooow Hayleey's eyes sparkled when the word Laguz rolled so easily off of Amir's tounge. ((I dont know em, but shes heard of em, lol)) "Laguz? Are you serious?" She paused, looking away, then back at him. "You are different...And rare..." "I've heard of them...And Im pretty sure others have, and some are even crazy about them- your species. Uhm...Im just being wise, form what Ive heard about them, you should really keep your 'identity' on the down low...Being straight forward...Some people would die to have...To have the hide of a Laguz dragon." Hayleey had indeed heard a few things about this type of dragon. Yes, they were rare, and when found, people become insane opver them, wanting to take the prize home of having skinned the dragon. It was a shame, because it seriously must have been a burden to carry such a heavy weight on his shoulders, but an honer at the same time.

(OOC: S'all good. Makes things more intersting ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ) Amir's tawny flesh paled. So, there were humans this far from Laguz territory who had heard of his people. He glanced around nervously, suddenly very aware of how outnumbered he was. His homesickness doubled, making him feel ill. He sat up straighter in his seat, his expression cool and his amber gaze full of dormant hostility. "Yes, yes... I am well aware of theses hazards to my... health." His voice fell until it was just above a whisper. "However, unlike many of my people, I will NOT take a threat to my existence with a pacifist attitude. Force will be met with force." He stood. "Perhaps it would be better... if we both pretended this conversation never happened, as much as I had enjoyed it at first." A trace of fear passed hos face. "I have no desire to see my... heritage become common knowledge, please." He then turned to leave the cafeteria.

Hayleey leaned back as his tone suddenly became harsh, and somewhat threatening. She was actually taken back by his sudden change in attidues, as though she were all of a sudden the enemy. She didnt say anything, and just took in his words...Warnings. Hayleey's gaze then turned into a glare as he abrubtly stood and walked out. She follwed him out into the hallway, placing her hand firmly on his shoulder, in effort to stop him, but quickly withdrew, seeing how he was on edge, if not completely off the cliff. "Dont you dare make me out to be the enemy! You asked a question, and I answered honestly!" Hayleey looked away, her face flushed, mostly out of frustration, and partially from embarrassment. It was rare that she raised her voice at anyone.

Amir abruptly stopped, shame and chagrin flooding his being. He sighed and the tension left his body as he turned to face Hayleey, an apologetic expression on his handsome face. "You're right, Hayleey, and I'm sorry." He glanced around to make sure no one else was coming before speaking again. "It's just that... old fears and prejudices diehard. I was raised with horrifying stories of what humans do to Laguz, of the terrible darkside of human nature. Don't get me wrong, not all Laguz have clean noses either, but I have never seen the cruelty and brutality among my people that humans cause." He smiled. "Can you forgive me for jumping to conclusions? Perhaps you could... show me how not all humans fit the mold that my people have given them. I'd very much like to get to know a human who can get along with Laguz." His smile widened. Yes, it would be very nice. Amir felt almost giddy at the thought of befriending a good human. It would take a lot of evidence before he trusted her completely, but this turn of events gave him a great deal of hope.

Hayleey's hand rubbed her bare arm, still looking away. An apology, as Amir probably guessed was needed, and as he apologized, Hayleey smiled slightly, loving the fact that he was man enough to own up to his mistakes, or admit when he was in the wrong. Alot of guys couldn't do that. Her citrine oculars then transferred back to him, taking in what he was saying. "I can see where you're coming from..and yes. I do forgive you," she stated with a smile. Hayleey stepped forward, a solem expression amongst her face. "And Amir, " She looked around, her voice temporarily dropping to a whisper, "Of the Laguz, your secret is safe with me." A reassuring smile comforted her features.
