The shard click of Gabriel Lial's shoes meeting the worn tiling echoed from each of the cafeteria's walls. The large room looked like it had barely been maintained in the last few years of it's use, the tiles had scuff marks from hundreds of shoes crossing them each day, the fiber wood tables had cracks from overuse, and even the cooks appeared to have suffered some wear and tear from the years.
"Pathetic." Lial said, his voice laced with immediate hatred for the place "Truly pathetic. The city can afford to screen it's occupants but not enough funding to make a academy that's well maintained." he moved slowly toward the kitchen to scrutinize that menu, his unusually thick clothing setting him apart from the rest of the room's occupants.
(Sorry for the short ass post.)

((iz ok!))
Tiffany strolled into the cafeteria casually. She took no notice of the..not so pleasant aspect of the cafeteria. She had been to the store, for she had a little refrigerator stashed in her dorm room, so she didnt have to eat the cafeteria food. She had never liked cafeteria food..even from the best schools, it all seemed to be the same. Rubbery, premade, thick, nasty food that made her want to gag. She also didnt like it for she had extremely..eccentric tastes. She sat down gingerly on the worn out seat, and was pleasantly suprised to find it was comfortable if not the most visually appealing. She took out the food she had brought with her. Not in the least ashamed of her weird choices for a meal. She took out a soda, a bag of chips..and a bag of Jet-Puffed marshmallows. She opened her soda and took a quick sip of it before practically attacking the bag of marshmallows. She munched down on the exquisite sweetness and softness of the squishy snack. She had already opened the bag of chips in the process and crunched into one as she let her eyes survey the cafeteria. One person in particular caught her eye. He seemed to be covered in thick clothes. Her eyebrow rose slowly as she peered outside. She had thought it quite warm..but maybe she was wrong...No..it is bright and sunny.. She turned back to him with interest as he studied the menu. " Let me be of some help?" She said to him trying to get his attention. "It all sucks.." She stated, waving at the menu with a half eaten marshmallow. She turned her eyes back to her own little meal and took another sip of her coke as she waited to see what he would choose from the 'wide' selection from the cafeteria. A small smile touched her lips but she acted like she was no longer interested in what he was doing. But she was frightfully intregued by this stranger.

The variety on the menu was non-existent, the school seemed to be under the impression that people would actually want to pay them for these twice cooked meals. Most of the food looked like it was a sad mixture of dyed rubber and latex, and the was to put it moderately, it was surprising that all of the school students weren't violently ill just from being near the toxic materials let alone from eating them. Maybe the people of Cassis didn't really care enough about themselves, from what Gabe had seen most of them had come from tragic situations, most involving some one dying at the hands of the people of Cassis. It was surprising that the people weren't as lifeless as this food that they ate from going through so much in such a sort time.
Lial was pulled from his random thoughts by a kind girl speaking to him. Like so many of these "gifteds" the girl had oddly colored hair, it was shade of blue that Lial wasn't sure he had ever seen any were else in the world. The girls eyes were light blue sapphires set into a beautiful ivy colored face, her features containing a innocent look but mischief hid under the surface, and her petite body showed a great amount of grace with each of it's curves. The girl's appearance had become a near hypnotic effect to Lial, so much so that he almost missed her next sentence."It all sucks.." Gabe laughed genuinely at the older teen's statement "I had guessed as much when I noticed the smell of the place. So is this the best that Cassis has to offer? I mean I came here searching for a meal but this resembles poison more than anything edible.

Tiffany popped the last of the marshmallow into her mouth, chewed it thoughtfully and swallowed it. She picked up her drink and washed down the sticky sweetness left by the marshmallow. "No...this is all that the school has to offer. There are plenty of places to get food. Like..the cafe...or the store.." She said the last part gesturing to her food. "Thats where I get mine." She picked up the chips and offered him the bag. "Chips?" She kept her eyes on him as she took another drink of her soda. She swished the can around..almost empty.. She turned in her seat to see if there was a soda machine nearby but she didnt see one. Disappointed, she turned back to the guy in front of her. "So you dont find anything that suits your taste?" She asked him rhetorically as she glanced past him to the surly faced cafeteria lady. She shivered involuntarily as the woman proceeded to pick her nose. Tiffany sat the chips back down and looked doubtfully at the marshmallows. Even though she knew that the woman hadnt touched them, her mind became convinced that the woman had soiled her food with just a look. She stood up and left her food on the table. "I need something to drink.." She muttered to him. She gave the lady a look like, 'Yeah..I left my food here..do something about it..' As she walked to the door. She looked behind her to the guy she hadnt even introduced herself to yet. "Coming? Ill show you where you can get good food." She turned to the doors and began to walk slowly, letting him decide whether he wanted edible food, or if he was going to settle for the poison that the cafeteria offered. She threw a hand past her shoulder in a nonchalant gesture. "My name's Tiffany by the way."

Gabriel watched the slender girl as she offered him some of her potato chips. Oddly enough Lial had never actually had potato chips, he had kept to more expensive snacks. Diving his hand into the into the greasy bag, he muttered a hesitant thank you and courageously stuck the fattening snack in his mouth. It wasn't as bad as he had predicted, salty beyond belief but not entirely horrible.
Chewing, Lial watched Tiffany's petite scamper toward the exit, she clearly was trying to make him come to after her, Gabe guessed that it was her way of showing that she was the one in charge of the situation. He couldn't be sure, he hadn't had much exposure to normal girls. Never the less Lial was quick behind Tiffany. "My name's Gabriel Lial. Please refer to me as Lial instead of Gabriel." his words were to the point of politeness that they almost sounded curt.

Tiffany glanced at him and raised one eyebrow slowly. "Really ...well then..Lial.." She started as she pushed the doors open grandly. She basked once more in the humid heat of the day. That brought up a curious question as to why he was all bundled up in thick clothes. "What exactly do you eat? Sushi?" She asked only half humorously. He seemed to look extremely dubious at the chips she had offered, yet had suprised her by eating them anyway. " Or would something a little less...intense..be okay for you?" She asked with a slight tilt of her lips. Lial seemed like he had limited knowledge of the general price range of a normal person. Like..paying way too much for something when the genetic brand was twenty dollars less and possibly made from the same company. She sighed. She looked around for the right place to take him to. She was still almost deathly thirsty. So she zeroed in on the cafe. She motioned with one hand to Lial. "I dont care who you are or where you are from, but everyone has to love a cup of good ole hot apple cider!" She said, her mouth watering just thinking about it. She walked briskly to the cafe. Now that she had thought about the cider that was all she could think about. The spicy aroma...the tangy taste right before the sweet apple finally made its way through the assortment of flavors to taunt the tounge before it was finally over and the cider was gone...With poor Tiffany holding an empty cup... She sighed. This time, she wouldnt hold back the extra dollars. She was getting two cups..
