Name: Marshall Frank Titus
Nicknames: Hannibal Lecter, Hannibal the Cannibal
Aliases: Shark Tooth
Age: 38
Marital Status: Widower
Occupation: School Custodian
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Weight: 87 kg
Height: 195 cm
Eyes: Green, quite round
Hair: Cut very short, black, thinning early
Peculiars: His skin, though tanned from the sun, is originally very pale and grayish. He also has the characteristic shark's fin sticking out of his back, though it doesn't serve too much use and was mainly for the kicks of the genetic engineers to make him look more like a creature of the deep.
Clothing: He generally wears coveralls or other common janitorial outfits, and underneath he never goes without his bulletproof vest.
Powers: In order to blend in, the government saw the necessity of having a person who would pass as a gifted as their inside man.
Shark: He has an ultra-sensitive sense of smell. His nostrils are not like a normal human, and have many layers of tissue of sensitive olfactory organs that increase the receptive surface area. For example, he could smell a drop of blood a kilometer away. He also has a sixth sense--the ability to sense electric fields, called electroreception. Clusters of pores are in a V shape on his temples, starting at his cheekbones, peaking at his hairline, and going all the way down to the side of his neck. These are the receptors that enable him to detect electromagnetic fields. This not only works with machines that use electricity, but also with humans as well. Every muscle in the human body exerts a tiny electromagnetic field. Wounds leak electrolytes, enhancing the magnetic field. Using his senses, she can see if there is a person, say, lurking behind a tree, unseen, about to jump out and kill him or something by the electromagnetic field coming from their muscles. He also has a keen sense of hearing and is able to hear sounds both above and below the normal herz range of a human. His eyes are also extraordinary, what would be akin to a cat's, in that they contain a row of small plates that reflect incoming light through the retina for a second time so that she can see in dark conditions. He also has rows and rows of sharp teeth like a shark's that are embedded into the flesh rather than attached to the jaw, and he loses and regrows them just like a shark would. He has cartilage instead of bone, which is softer, lighter, and more flexible. He possesses gills. He is also able to turn off parts of her brain while leaving the other parts active so he can sleep and still be perceptive at the same time to wake up at the sign of danger.
Weakness: Much is explained in his power-related issues, but a couple things I hadn't thought of: Having a super-sense of smell obviously can backfire, if something that smells really horrible was brought up to his nose it would be 200x the torture a normal person would go through. He's also sensitive to extremely bright lights, but his eyes can eventually adjust.
Power related issues: Marhshall is the result of one of the government's early experiments to create a super-human weapon, and was injected with DNA much akin to what later happened to Ven. In fact, the many failed experiments to create stable super-humans through the government's scientists were one of the reasons they looked outside for other help. That being said, Marshall could be thought of as a failure -- not in the body, but in the mind. He is extremely unstable. The shark's DNA is full of powerful predatory instincts -- the shark's fame as the perfect predator was the main reason why it was chosen to give the man synthetic abilities -- which give way to obvious problems stemming from violent and volatile behavioral tendencies. Oftentimes he goes into a frenzy at the sight and smell of blood, attacking anything in sight without regard to orders. He does not generally attack unless provoked or ordered to, but when he does, he attacks with the single-minded determination of a dying man trying to extract his last revenge from an enemy. He can get extremely angry too easily, and is quick to attack when someone does trigger him. He also gets cravings for fish quite often.
Personality: As was said before, he has a short temper and is quick to lose it. He's not especially cunning, nor does he possess an uncanny genius, but he is a man who is good at what he does and follows orders without asking questions, making him the perfect government dog. He doesn't like to improvise or go on something blindly, and is very conventional and afraid to be without orders. Sometimes he can be easily confused by mixed signals. However, once he makes a decision, he sticks with it, despite any qualms he may have felt coming to it.
History: Since children were deemed the best candidates for DNA testing due to their ability to heal themselves much better than adults, Marshall was worked on early. His father left his mother after he was born, and she was desperate to get any kind of money at all. When she heard that the government would pay handsomely for subjects for their experimental enhancement, she jumped at the chance. How bad could enhancement be? Ever since he could remember, he was always in the "hospital," or at least, what he was told was the hospital. He doesn't remember much of what happened to him, as the anesthesia and narcotics were constantly taking a hold of his young brain to dull the pain and allow him to be worked on. He was kept under the watchful eye of the government to see his progress ever since he was eight and was finally sent home to live with his mother on a most generous "pension." He was later enrolled in military school when he reached his teens, something that neither he nor his mother had a say in, and was given "special training." There his tendencies towards violence was first discovered, and his unstable mind caused him to be declared unfit for duty, despite the wonderful physical effects of his powers. More experiments took place to try to figure out what went wrong to correct it in future projects, though not much headway was made. However, he was kept in the military reserves. Just in case.
And here came that case everyone was waiting for. Now that the gifteds were seen as a threat once more, their synthetic superhumans were needed at last to infiltrate the area. Marshall was given a job, a chance to prove himself, a chance that he would never give up. He is very eager to please authority, no matter how independent he really is. Not being of sound mind or smart enough to be a teacher, he took up a job as a janitor at the school. He therefore has access to all the grounds and is able to monitor the students, seeking out the strongest and most able for experimentation to figure out how they can live with their powers so easily, what makes them tick, and how they can use it to create more super-humans for the military.
