"So, We're actually going to go back home? Do you think that mommy will welcome us back?" A little girl asked, as she cautiously walked. The man beside her was quiet. In his thoughts he knew his sister wanted to go back home. See their other sister again, but he held against it. He knew his parents and they HATED gifteds. Since the day when they found out about his 'curse' and found out it was all his fault they kicked him out of the house. He could still visually see the day that he left, the look on his parents faces and how they just turned away from him. THey wasn't one to like a cursed son. His father took it hardest he figured. SEeing as he was the only boy in the family. He did remember hearing his father tell him once that he discraced the Mason name.
"Do you think that Lacey missed us?"
Wyatt didn't move at all to her words, but still was lost in thought. If only she knew that no matter what we... or she does, they will not welcome us back home. It's impossible. THey hate us, but she seems so confident. If they did take either of us back, it'd be her, but also keep her in isolation. That's no way to live. Isolated from your sister, friends, Even parents. When I get there.. I will tell them what I think about what their doing, but I just hope it all ends well. I want Lexi to be happy. I really do. She deserves it. It wasn't her fault that she became ... gifted! That's my fault. I will do whatever it takes to keep her safe and hope that she'll stay happy whatever goes on.
His thougths were interrupted again, hearing her meek voice whisper out. "Did you hear me?
"What? OH, LAcey, I'm not sure, but once we get there, I'm sure she'll be happy to see us again!" He lied. It was the only thing he could say to let her hear what she wanted to. He knew once they arrived there that she would find out the truth, that Lacey probably would be scared, especially from what their parents have said about them. He shook his head slightly and picked her up, allowing her to sit on his shoulders.
"Well, LExi.. ARe you hungry or do you want to rest?" He asked as he tickled her side. She laughed and hit at his hands. SHe didn't have to worry about hurting him, since his body held the same poison that she did. It was the only person she could truely be 'normal' around without fear.
"I'm hungry! What is there to eat?" SHe asked as she motioned to get down from his shoulders and he complied letting her feet touch the ground.
"Well, I have some snacks with me. Marshmellow treats... Um... chips, I've got a pb&j in here!" He fixed a few sandwiches before he left cassis, knowing that Lexus would eat them. He fished around his bag a few bottles of potion clammered around in the bottom as he finally reached down and grabbed a sandwich for her and she took it smiling.
"Thank you Wyatt! I love you!" She said to him and quickly ran over to a bench and sat down. Wyatt stood where he was and watched his brilliant sister eat her sandwich. She didn't care that she had this curse. SHe seemed like it didn't bother her, but he knew that it did. It bothered him all the time.
"So, Is it any good? Is your brother a good cook?" He asked her and she shot up a look at him.
"You cook? THat's funny. All you did was put peanut butter and jelly on bread. That's nothing special, I could have done that!" She teased him and took another bit. "ARen't you going to eat?" She asked him and tore off a peice of her food.
"No, I'm okay. I'm not really hungry right now. I"m saving mine for later. When we get on the bus and all!" He told her and looked around. He noticed a guy in a black outfit near them, but expected him to be waiting on the bus like him and his sister.
"Umm.. Lexi I'll be back in just a minute, OKay?" He told her and she nodded and kept eating. Wyatt's hand went to his stomach. He could tell that it was getting worse. The toxin in his body was rising and he knew soon that he would be taking even more of the medicine to keep himself well.
Walking away from lexi, he grabbed one of his vials and stuck it in his pocket not letting her see and when he reached an alleyway, he took out the bottle. "Bottoms up... Again!" He sighed but drank the liquid, now getting used to the awful taste, but as soon as the liquid touched his lips, a small crack got to his ears and the vial broke, spilling the liquid everywhere. "What the - ?" HE asked and instantly looked around. There was noone there, but he knew something was about to happen. He looked back to where he left lexi and his mouth dropped to see her no longer in sight.
"LEXI! LEXI? WHere are you?" He bellowed as he took off in a run, but as soon as he reached the entrance of the alleyway, a dark figured man stook in front of him.
"I don't think so. Little Lexi is with me.. and your going with us next!" He grunted and behind him, a bigger man was holding a squirming Lexi with tape over her mouth. She let out a muffled scream as the man never let go to her kicking feet or movments.
"Let HER GO!" Wyatt was pissed. He didn't expect any of this to happen and he heard his sister's muffled scream. How dare he touch his sister?
"Now, Wyatt... If you come with us quietly, Little Lexi won't be harmed. We beleive that your powers and your sister will come in handy soon. If you join us of course!" The man spoke and he watched as LExi stopped squirming in his grasp. Wyatt's face showed disqust for what was going on. Looking behind him, it seemed like there was only two of them. He smiled. He could fight them and if lexi could get to his skin, she'd be able to get away.
"LEXI RUN WHEN YOU CAN!" Wyatt took of in a run toward the man holding her and running past the man that was talking just previously watched in shock.
"LET HER GO YOU STUPID GIT!" He screamed at him, and instantly in order to protect himself, he threw Lexi against the wall and put his hands up to defend himself. Lexi moved slight as she hit the wall and slumped down. Wyatt's vision went to her momentarily and metally screamed. He gritted his teeth to the men and the one that was behind him, grabbed wyatt by the arms and kicked behind his knee's. He fell over to the ground. Wyatt had the chance to scream out to her again.
"RUN LEXI... RUN BACK TO CASSIS... GET HELP!"
The buff man that was holding Lexi previously brought out a gun and hit Wyatt over the head with it, sending him into unconciouness. His words being the last time that Lexi heard him. SHe knew she was in trouble.
"Wyatt, YOu should have come quietly. Look at yourself now. Laying on the ground. YOur poor sister.... How will you ever forgive yourself. Get Lexi NOW!" He told the other man. He smiled and walked over to lexi who was trying to get up.
"Come on little girl. Your turn! Come quietly!" He said and she instantly tried to hit him. "HEy, THat's not nice!" He used his wieght and height against her and sent her to the ground again with a slap to her face. Lexi let out a small cry and looked up again. The man got close again and Lexi knew what she had to do.
"You hurt my brother.. I will never give up!" THe man tried to grab her again, and instantly Lexi moved her hands face. Scratching the man multiple times with her fingers, crying slightly as she did so. THe man soon fell over, unconcious as the man who watching everything grabbed wyatt and put him into a van.
"Stupid girl... I will come foryou again!" He bellowed and Wyatt disappeared in the distance, the van now gone. She was alone again. All alone. She watched in desperation as her brother was driven off. She pushed herself up from the wall and got her balance, but slumped down again. Her arm has a slight pain in it when the guy threw her against the wall. Looking at her arm, scratches decorated her pale arm, and she covered it with her free hand.
"WYATT...WY...ATT!" She cried in the alleyway. She had no idea what to do. She was alone. She was only a young girl. How is she suppose to do anything. A few passerbys' noticed the crying girl but didn't do anything to help out.
Getting up once more, she staggered slightly as she looked around. Seeing her brothers backpack that carried his things, she picked it up hoisting it over her back. She put a hand up to her cheek and felt the heat from where he hit her. She flinched slightly to her own touch of it and started to walk. A Young man who was passing her by noticed the condition the poor girl was in and caught her attention.
"Excuse me.. ARe you okay?" He asked as he went to her side, noticing the bright bruise on her cheek and the cuts on her arm. He frowned slightly seeing her. "Let me help you.. Where is your home?"
Lexi looked up to him, then remembered what he said. RUN LEXI... RUN BACK TO CASSIS... GET HELP[/b] Those words haunted her, still echoing in her head. "I need help... I do.. need help... My brother was taken from me.. TAKEN!" She started to cry heavily as she started to run off from the good semaritan. She needed to get to cassis. The man watched her run away and almost wanted to run to catch her. To help her but he knew that she was going somewhere important. He could only hope that she'd be safe.
Wyatt, where are you? Why did you let them take you. YOu could have fought harder... fought harder to help me. I should have helped you... but I'm so little. I almost didn't even escape. Please brother be okay.. I don't want to loose you. Your my only hope... I'm your only hope. Surely someone at cassis will help me... I hope! THoughts ran through her head, tear drops stained the ground as she ran. Her form ran until it gave out and she stopped leaning on a building. Her breaths were ragged and she closed her eye's. "I mustn't stop. I have to hurry.... Wyatt ... needs me!" She fought with her thoughts again, not noticing the people around her were staring at the orphaned girl. Some of them snickered and turned, others just stared. She started to run again, her breathing was already laboured, as the site of the school was already in sight. Instead of a smile, a frown was the only thing there.
"Do you think that Lacey missed us?"
Wyatt didn't move at all to her words, but still was lost in thought. If only she knew that no matter what we... or she does, they will not welcome us back home. It's impossible.
