The black creature screeched as it missed Jake, and then swirled around on the boy, preparing itself to head for another attack. But, upon hearing Laodice scream for help, it grinned to itself, thinking the boy had perhaps given up. It now ignored Jake, becoming thinner again and traveling in a jagged line back towards Galilee's body, and then jumping 'into' her form as though she were an open portal, or some kind of hole. Galilee shifted as though she were awakening from slumber, and then her eyes snapped open as she got up and turned to face Laodice, allowing herself to grin ever so slightly, still believing he had given in from something like fear, but then saw Dementia. Getting up and ambling her way towards the body of the girl, she put her thumbs in her pockets and raised an eyebrow, her eyes watching the female.
The scene didn't surprise, seeing as they were at a gifted school, and you were to expect the impossible. Licking her lips as though she had just eaten something delicious and longed to get another taste of it, Galilee adjusted her glasses and opened her mouth to speak in a demanding, expecting voice that showed respect for the bloodied girl. "Take a step back, Laodice." the girl hissed harshly, as though the boy were her slave. She felt as though he shouldn't be close to the Dementia, though she had no idea why, it was just something in her that screamed to let itself be known. Galilee didn't let her off Dementia, watching her carefully.

Jake started to hear voices again, so the fight must have been over. Jake created a small jetstream to blast him out of the hole and landed on his feet perfectly. "Ten points!" Jake shouted, puting his hands in the air. He then turned to the hole and refilled it and took away his two jetstreams. Though, he practically almost fainted when he saw the amount of blood coming out of that one girl's body. "Um, does anyone need a medical kit?" Jake asked, a little blue ball of light becoming a First Aid Kit from his hands.

Laodice simply backed away as Galilee had said. He was almost autonomous at the moment, his mind racing in many different directions. It didn't look like the girl was in too much trouble, surprizingly. Despite the blood and bones, there was something about her that told Laodice that she would be fine soon. Laodice looked up at Galilee. "What are we going to do?" he asked, hoping she had the right answer. She seemed a bit of a brute for first aid. When Jake came with a first aid kit, he was almost amused. Had he the ability to perform first aid, equipment or none, he wouldn't have frozen up like that. He looked back at Jake. "I wouldn't want to be the one to risk anything," he said, "and I'm not sure that's the right thing for protruding bones and broken arteries." He kicked himself on the inside for his sarcasm in such a delicate situation. He looked back at the girl, surprised she could even be alive. He looked at the blood on his own clothes and felt a bit sick. He hoped, for his own sake and hers, that she didn't have any communicable diseases.

Dementia coughed violently, her chest rattling as she took a deep, shaky breath and pulled a dislocated rib from her chest with a face twisted in pain and disgust.
"You're not going to do anything," Dementia responded in answer to Laodice's question to Galilee. "I don't need any help," she muttered. Her voice sounded forced, as if she was talking through a closing tube. She wiped off flecks of blood that had spewed from her lips during her coughing episode.
"Listen to the girl. Step back a little father." She stretched her back like a cat, cringing slightly. She exhaled deeply, prepared herself for the onslaught of pain, reached back onto her back, and started pulling out her spine with a gruesome squelch. The long chain of vertebrae scraped against the second spine that had grown up in its displacement. Dementia attempted to shake off the pain that shot through her back with every inch that the two chords scraped against each other on the way out of her skin, that was trying close itself up and was continually being broken by the tiny, sharp bones. She finished with a slight gasp as the last bone came out from the gaping hole in her skin. Her spine slapped like a whip against the ground, suddenly free of its bodily cage.
"And that's why you stand back," she murmured, slowly standing up. She was slightly dizzy from the loss of blood, and shut her eyes, pausing in a crouch, before she finally straightened out completely. "You'll have to excuse me for startling you. And..." her startlingly bright, clear blue eyes flashed to Laodice's body, one side covered with her own blood. "For that." Her voice was extremely breathy; she wasn't able to properly exhale.

Jake didn't even dare to look at the spine they had dropped to the ground. He got rid of the first aid kit and sighed. "Well... that was a bit unpleasant... you got your shirt covered in blood." Jake said, trying to lighten whatever mood that was still lingering. "So... I take it your power involves the removal of your own bones?" Jake asked her (if true... SO Naruto!), though practicing such a thing must be painful (bones come out of your body... not at ALL painless). Refering to Laodice's comment, he also noted, "I at least tried something, you know..."

Dementia frowned as one of the boys attempted to make a joke, but didn't say anything to voice her disapproval. Yeah, he got his shirt covered in blood. It's not going to be a peaches and cream experience, and it wasn't exactly good for her, either. She couldn't completely pass for Carrie, but there was still too much blood out of her veins that should have been in. It was easy to notice in the dizzy, lightheaded feeling. She shot him an icy glare as she wheezed.
"So... I take it your power involves the removal of your own bones?" he asked. Yeah. Thanks, Captain Obvious. She had only known him for a few minutes and already he had far exceeded the requirements for the nickname. Dementia rolled her eyes and breathlessly replied between long, forced exhales.
"It's more like... regeneration and manipulation on the cellular level... of anything part of my body..." she put one long, cool hand up to her throat and attempted to regulate her breathing better. "Creating and molding... uh, new bones... displaces the old ones... It works for organs, too... So I'll never worry about... needing a liver transplant..." she chuckled airily. "And I can change the cellular makeup... of anything in my body... to alter its appearance." As she spoke, her hands now occupied themselves by patting down her thin legs and digging into various pockets of her cargo pants, obviously searching for something. Her eyes widened as her fingers didn't come up with the thing that she was searching for, and they started moving more frantically. Dementia looked up at Captain Obvious, who had yet to prove himself useful. Hopefully this would be his chance. It took her an entire five seconds to exhale completely before she took a deep breath to get out her entire sentence in one piece.
"You, uh, happen to have an inhaler in that first aid kit you magicked away?"

Galilee watched with a sickening interest as the girl before her proceeded to remove her second spoine from her body. At the sound of the crack that announced the bone had indeed been removed, she almost smiled. Yes, almost, because this wasn't enough to make her smile on the outside, but it sure as hell was enough to make her smile on the inside. She tilted her glasses down to steal a glance at the girl, her body soaked in blood. Not that it disgusted Galilee at all, she found it attractive. But anyway.
"Oh, figured that all on your own, dumbass?" Galilee spat contemptiously at Jake as he stated a blatantly obvious fact. Yes, the girl could obviously remove her own bones, it didn't look like she could fly or use the element of fire. But he had to go ahead and ask anyway, as though he hadn't even seen her removing her spine from her body. Yet the girl couldn't blame it all on him. After all, people at Cassis didn't seem to be the brightest crayon in the box. They didn't even seem to be in the box. Galilee began to wonder what Maeve would say if she were here to see this. The girl, Galilee thought, had been one of the few sane people here at this lovely school, and naturally they had gotten along. She didn't believe opposites attracted to each other, but more like great minds think alike. She and Maeve obviously had mind with intelligents superior to...everyone else's.
But this girl, whatever her name was, didn't seem to be like a majority of others at Cassis. She reminded her of Maeve, to be honest, and if she was anything like Maeve, there would be no problem that needed solving.

((One of these days Galilee is going to turn Dementia gay. xD))
Dementia smiled inwardly as Galilee gave voice to what she had been privately thinking as if she could read her mind.
...Well, that wasn't exactly out of the question, but it seemed at least like she meant it. Perhaps there were some people in this school she could relate to. Dementia turned her icy stare to the source of the refreshingly contemptuous voice and met eyes full of disdain for incompetence, and was immediately and intensely enraptured with Galilee. It was easy to see through her gaze that she was one of the more enlightened people in this hole full of pretend-to-do-goods and happy-go-luckies and the general population of oblivious idiots who felt like people and the world was all full of good and rainbows and puppies and magic. Cobwebs and shadows and the ugliness of human nature reflected in Galilee's eyes. Seeing her made Dementia realize the utterly stupid request she'd made of that weakling Captain Obvious, who was still somehow able to gawk at her gored body while trying to avoid looking at her altogether at the same time, all the while making stupid little cracks.
She can't believe that she had asked him for help. It was insane to even contemplate the idea of giving him a chance to not be entirely useless to her. She didn't give second chances in a world all about first impressions. Without looking away from Galilee, she spoke to Captain Obvious with the monotonous, scornful voice of a superior giving orders to his servant.
"Never mind. I can see you're too preoccupied with disgust to make yourself even vaguely fit to perform even the most simple task. I forgot for a moment that if I ever wanted anything done, I have to do it myself. Must be the fumes of stupidity getting to me." She gave a little wave at Jake during another long exhalation and backed away slightly as if he carried a contagious disease.
And then, in one swift motion, she took a deep breath, picked up the rib she had discarded earlier that sharpened to a point under her fingertips, pressed her free hand to her mouth, and expelled a hollow bone from her palm that shot down into her throat. Her mouth rejected the foreign object and she gagged slightly, tears automatically forming in her eyes, before she mentally overcame the reflex. The salty, rusty taste of her own blood that leaked onto her tongue before the wound was closed up by her rapidly regenerating cells was unwelcome, but she overcame the slight repulsion. Though no one could see, inside the bone had warped into a sharp, flat, sword-like object. She twisted it around her fingers, literally shaving off part of the contracted muscles to make her own airways. The bone cells then built back up together to recreate the hollow tube they were earlier and expanded so that the muscles, while the cells regenerated to heal the wounds, would not go back to their normal, unbreathable form.
Then, before anyone could move to object, she, without any hesitation or trepidation, slit her own throat. Blood spilled out over the sharpened rib she used as a knife, blood from the cut vessels that raced through the muscles she damaged. She had relocated her jugular away from the point of the knife and merely provided an outlet for the blood that would have collected in her lungs and throat. She probably could have vomited it up, but of course, this had more of an effect. When the bleeding sufficiently slowed after the muscles had been repaired and there was no more leakage to drain, she removed the ivory weapon from her vulnerable, pale throat and let her cells do their healing work. They raced to cover the wound, succeeding in less than thirty seconds. The only mark left of the gruesome action was a thin strip of skin slightly lighter than the surrounding area.
She took a deep breath and exhaled easily with a twisted smile. "There now. That's much better."

(I only said that because I wanted my post to be longer...)
Jake watched the sight in disgust... or was it sickness?... it was probably like a game of Operation for her. Jake ran over to a tree and spilled his guts behind it... he never could take watching stuff like this... a past experience he did not want to exactly relive. After doing that for about 3 minutes, Jake was then apparently brushing his teeth back there... would you want to smell someone's breath after an upchuck. Careful not to look at the girl who had just messed with nature to its limit, he walked back over to the three, now feeling much calmer. "I don't think its right to be messing with your body in that way." Jake said to her. "After all, not many people ctually want to cut and bleed themselves to near death."

Galilee, once again, almost smiledat Dementia's comment at Jake, already beginning to like her. She, at this moment, decided to name the people she knew she could get along with at this hellhole people called 'education'. Herself, obviously, Maeve, of course, Chesna, without a doubt, and this girl right here, now proceeding to tear herself from the inside out. Well, this situation was certainly getting more and more interesting by the second, seeing as people rarely took bones out of their body. And then put them back in.
As the blood spilled from the girl's throat, some of it landed on Galilee's boots, and she looked down, blinked, shrugged and then took a step back so the rest of the blood wouldn't get on her anymore. She could only guess what the girl had gone through all of this for, probably something had happened with her airway and she couldn't breath as easily. But anyway, she wouldn't ask, maybe later, maybe not, depended all on how she got herself through this little situation right here.
When Jake once again spoke, Galilee gave an 'ugh' and held the bridge of her nose while shutting her eyes, all in pure annoyance. As soon as he finished, she spoke, "Jake, I think the fact that she isn't already dead should be enough to bring, even to an idiot such as yourself, awarness to the fact removing bones from her body, regenerating them, and such things pertaining to this subject are obviously her power and she won't be bleeding to death anytime soon." Galilee said it very clearly, not missing one word, though not going painstakingly slow and yet fast enough to understand. Her voice sounded as though she were presenting something so incredibly obvious and because he seemed to either be in a sarcastic mood or just plain stupid, it actually hurt her inside to even have been around to hear him speak.
The girl shook her head, running a hand through her raven-colored hair and fixing her orange tinted sunglasses as though there was something wrong with them. 'Some people, ' the female thought to herself, 'really need to have more than just one brain cell.'

Jake became steamed at this. "Well, I just don't think it's exactly what some people might call 'ethical', that's all I'm saying. Though, it's pretty interesting a power, I'll admit, but it's just not something I'll want to witness for a while..." Jake said, still keeping his head up to keep his vision from the girl still. Blood now covered the entire ground below their feet... another reason for him to keep his head up. "I couldn't even stand biology... and the frogs were small, too..."
Tired of keeping his head up, he quickly got out a blindfold and put it around his head. He could still see through it, though most of the gore that was spilled around was unseeaable through the black cloth. "Much better."

((I just noticed the unintentional alliterations...))
"Not ethical?" Dementia laughed, her gray-blue eyes showing extreme amusement at his statement. Captain Obvious really wasn't getting any better with his choice of words. "I don't see what the problem is, if it does no harm to me," she said with the twisted, mirthless smile still plastered to her pale face. As she spoke, her phalanges slid out of her fingers like claws while she reached out to gently stroke Jake's blindfolded face with the pieces of her bare skeleton, just to prove her point. He deserved to be disgusted and afraid. The weakling carried a damn blindfold around to hide himself behind! What kind of a person is that? But then again, the workings of a weakling's world shouldn't surprise her anymore though, seeing as they could only be counted on to be cowards.
"You should take a leaf out of this one's book," Dementia told Jake, while pointing one long, bony finger towards Galilee's direction. Whether or not he could see through the cloth over his eyes was up to debate, however. Her fingers slipped off his face. She turned and walked over to Galilee, feeling as though she knew the inner workings of her kindred mind just from the way her eyes looked at Jake through those orange-tinted glasses.
Dementia thought about pulling out the bones that protruded from her fingertips, but decided against it and held out her hand as an introduction. She seemed interested in her abilities, not at all disgusted or fearful, and Dementia took that as a show of strength and conquering of one's core reactions. One must have a superior mind to overcome the instincts as to recoil when a drop of blood is spilled or close one's eyes when body parts aren't exactly where they should be.
"My name is Dementia Kemik, and I would be very pleased to know who you are."

Galilee watched, interested, as Dementia placed a bony finger on Jake, and grinned to herself, eager to see the boy's reaction. After all, any wuss that carried around a blindfold had to serve as some form of comedy, even though she was already enjoying herself by endlessly insulting him. As a matter of fact, chances were that, as soon as he spoke, she'd have some snide comment already prepared for him, seeing as every word that left the boy's mouth was tainted with a little something called stupidity.
When the girl turned in her direction, her balanced half of her body weight on one side and waited, watching as the girl approached her. She kept her eyes on her hands for a second, and watched as she raised it in greeting. "Likewise." she said, reaching out and giving the girl's hand a firm shake. "My name is Galilee MaryJane Judea." the girl said, raising an eyebrow and watching the girl carefully through the orange tinted lenses of her sunglasses.

Jake tried his best not to shake at the fact a bone was actually running against his face... and the person who owned it was alive. "Okay, Jake, stay cool... don't need to repeat the High School accident... gotta keep this stuff out of my head..." Jake kept thinking to himself until she finally took her finger off him and the thoughts cleared. That was a close one, it almost happened again...
He did have to admit, though, the blindfold was a bit too much on the whole thing. He took it off and poofed it away... he opened his eyes, but still refused to look at her. "If you're hurt or not, it's just against nature... even if it's a power... isn't anyone open to their own opinion, or are we going to play this game all morning?"

Laodice knew that arterial spray could spray a few feet, but he wasn't exactly prepared for the girl in front of him to slit her own throat, though it would have made sense to suspect such a thing with all she had already done. When she did it, more blood sprayed onto Laodice's white shirt, making a line across the front. What would be his excuse at the dry cleaner? Mass murder was the only one that came to mind. He just stared at Dimentia. Glad she's feeling better, he thought sarcastically to himself. He listened to the argument between team Dimentia/Galilee VS Solitary Jake. After a while, he felt he had the right to chime in.
Laodice looked at Dimentia and Galilee. "Honestly," he said, "I think your use of your power in such a casual manner shows a complete disrespect for the sanctity of life, blood, and body. Sure, you can regenerate it, but you show a total disregard for it as a gift. If someone gave you a gift, would you destroy it over and over again just because you could remake something like it?" Laodice thought for a moment, then turned to Jake. "But I suppose," he continued, "that since our powers are also a gift, we have the right to have our gifts coincide in any manner we please." He paused for a moment gathering his thoughts. He then turned back to Dimentia and Galilee. "And I'd appreciate it if you didn't bother Jake like this. He has his right to an opinion. You can self-inflict all you want," he said, "just don't try to bring others down with you." Finished saying his part and hoping that it had possibly bridged gaps or solved something, he stopped talking and simply took off his blood-stained jacket.
