Name: Hilary Ryder
Nicknames: “Frigg” (prefers to be called this)
Aliases: Death Artist, Angel of Death.
Age: 18
Marital Status: Single
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Weight: 153 lbs.
Height: 5’11”
Eyes: Icy blue.
Hair: Reddish brown; Frigg’s hair is very long, going past her waist.
Clothing: Frigg’s clothing is always black, minus her blue jeans. Because she is very fit, she like to wear tops that show that off (plus, no extra fabric getting in the way is best for her), but she doesn’t like “gothic” jeans like most people think she would. She instead prefers normal blue jeans, typically low-rise boot cut. She always wears comfortable tennis shoes. She has three piercings in one ear and four in the other.
Powers:
Necromancy: Frigg was born a necromancer; it was a gift she received from both her mother and father. Necromancy is the art of the dead, which means that Frigg can reanimate dead bodies and speak to the souls of people who haven’t moved on yet. Sometimes, she doesn’t have a choice, as dead souls will seek her out for a conversation. Her powers with souls rely mostly on concentration, cooperation, and communication. She can use excess energy that the souls are made out of to attack, but only if she is able to pay attention and connect with them. Her powers with dead bodies requires less concentration because the dead bodies typically don’t have wills of their own; by infusing them with a weak soul, she can reanimate them to do physical harm to others.
Possession: This can be both a power and a weakness for Frigg. She can only be possessed in her sleep, and she has no choice of who possesses her. The soul who possesses her could be a very powerful one, therefore bringing Frigg great power during the possession, or it could be an average soul, basically changing only her personality. While she is possessed, some slight necrosis occurs, causing some of the weaker blood vessels in her eyes to break and making the whites of her eyes red, giving her a very eerie look. After the possession is over, the blood is easily reabsorbed and the vessels heal quickly.
Weakness: Sleep (depending on the situation) and crowded areas where she can’t concentrate.
Power related issues: Frigg can usually be overloaded by trying to spread her power too thin and controlling too much. This can lead to fatigue, head aches, or black outs. Over all though, she has had her power since birth, so she has over come most side effects.
Personality: Frigg defies most people’s expectations of her and has a unique grasp on life. Having dealt with death since she was born, she has a morbid sense of humor and philosophies that most would find “creepy.” It would seem that she makes friends easily, and most people would consider her their friend (even if she is a little weird). However, Frigg is a bit slower to trust and, no matter how much she appears to be friends with some one, she will never call them her “friend” until they prove to her that they are worthy of such trust. Frigg is very playful and cheery, though most would disagree because of her fascination with death. She can be seen as a tomboy, which is a trait that earned her the nickname “Frigg”: it’s an ironic nickname, because Frigg was the goddess of womanhood, fertility, and domestic things. She shuns the name “Hilary,” mostly because she just hates it. She rarely thinks before she speaks, and sometimes speaks openly to spirits others cannot see. She is most commonly heard making conversation with a woman called “Bridget,” though she will happily explain that she is not permitted to speak about Bridget, if asked.
History: Frigg always thought her life was very normal, though it most definitely isn’t. Born as the younger of two children, Frigg’s best friend was always her brother, Louis, who was four years older than her. Technically, Frigg’s brother is only her half brother though, but both go by the same last name.
Frigg and Louis’s mother came from a very long line of necromancers, who had all married other necromancers and given birth to little necromancers. It was a tradition that went on as long as the power itself. However, Frigg’s mother had defied her family. Louis’s father was not a necromancer, but instead had telepathic and telekinetic abilities. Frigg’s grandparents were furious, and as punishment, Frigg’s mother was forced to give birth to a child that had two necromancer parents. Thus, Frigg was born. She took the last name “Ryder” though, which was the last name of the man her mother had truly loved (Louis’s biological father). Frigg does not know her biological father. When Frigg was nine and Louis was thirteen, their mother died. By that point, their grandparents had passed away as well, so they were left in the care of a close family friend (and fellow necromancer). The woman they grew up with was their teacher and an amazing woman. Now, Frigg is on her own. Louis left their teacher of his own free will when he was eighteen, and Frigg never saw him again. Frigg, on the other hand, was sent away to broaden something more than her powers: her mind, which has never been her strong suit.
