A young girl left a store with several bags in one hand. Blond, silken hair, fell to her shoulders as she walked gracefully out of the sliding doors. Honey brown eyes looked about through the crowds. Maybe coming on a Saturday was a bad idea.[/i] Though Beatrix as she looked at the people that crowded the walk ways and benchs and stores. And at noon, none the less.[/i] Her mind sighed at this thought and she gave up the idea of getting food.
Beatrix had taken a job last summer, saving her money up to buy whatever she please, whenever she wanted. But, the money was running low and so the shopping would have to wait until her next job was taken up. A hand smoothed out the royal blue off the shoulder shirt she wore. It was form fitting and soft to the touch as it came to her waist gracefully. There, at her waist, it met the top of her long, white wrap around skirt with black timming.
" Do I need anything else?" Asked the girl to herself, looking at a small black watch on her wrist. Looking up, a smile pulled at her dark lips as she though of one more thing she should probably get. A new pair of hiking boots would do nicely, her other ones had been worn down beyond repair. The sparkling pink, manicured, nails tapped her chin thoughtful with the other hand holding the four or so bags. Where is that shoe store?[/i] Wondered Beatrix as she looked about and finally spotted the store a good deal away.
" More walking, fantastic!" She said with such energy and happiness. Beatrix set off, her white flip-flops making the obvious sound, at a wonderful pace. Her destination was the Payless only a few minutes away.

" Uh? What?" Beatrix looked about a bit confused as she was greeted by someone she had never seen in her life. She whiped the confused and slightly uncomfortable look off her face before she felt the needed to reply. However, the chocolate hand of hers was wandering over boxes of shoes as Beatrix took to look for her size.
" Oh, right. Hi. I'm doing fine...thanks for asking." The answer was hesitant and seem a bit dismissive as she bent a bit to see what style shoe she had come across. Pulling the box out she looked the boots over, taking in the sides and the sole of the shoe itself. Looking inside she pushed a hand to the bottom to check it for comfort.
" No...Well, I could by some liners..." The girl muttered looking the boots over. They were black and looked more like a pair of work boots then they did hiking boots. However, they appeared sturdy and this had caught the eye of Beatrix. Putting the shoe back into the box she made a mental not of what shelf she had found them. Eyes the color of honey once more set to scanning the sides of the boxes casually.

" Payless has liners too." The girl stated rather blatantly. She didn't seem to hear the compliments so much as she pulled a more suitable pair of boots out. Once more, Beatrix went through the process of inspecting the shoe thoroughly. More mutterings about the soul, the inside of it, the laces and the such escaped her lips as she put the shoes back in their box. Why do I feel like an insect being examined...Her mind dwelt on that thought for a mere moment as Beatrix scooped up the new box and stepped around Lazaria and turned a corner to find Liners.
" 8...8...8...Ah-ha, Found you." Whispered Beatrix as she placed the liners on the top of the shoe box and stepped into line. Her other bags had remained in the other hand, clutched tightly and kept close. Though odd as that girl is, might want to be nice and say good bye. It's rude not to.[/i] A conclusion was reached and Beatrix looked over her shoulder.
" Good-bye. I hope you have a good day." The girl said without really any emotion, a smile, or anything. Hearing the clerk say next she stepped up and placed her articles on the counter.
" This all?" Asked the cashier, running things through. Smiling softly, Beatrix gave a nodded to the young man and waited for her total. When it was given, Beatirx pulled a small black purse from the depths of one of the bags and handed the money over. Bowing her head, upon receiving her change, the dark-skinned blond left the store without a single thought.

Sighing, Beatrix turned just outside of the door. Now, see this was getting a bit on her nerves and it wasn't really a good thing today. Beatrix srolled her eyes to the left, inspecting her bags and such before looking back up at Lazaria. What the hell does she want from me? My numer? Jesus, I come to the mall to pick up somethings and now have a stalker. Wonderful...whatever.[/i] Though her thoughts were malicious and somewhat cold, Beatrix looked at her watch.
" You have 5 minutes before my cab comes to get me. What?" Her voice sounded annoyed, it was obvious now. " I suggest hurring. I'm not very patient today." Added Beatrix as she looked up with a rather disgruntled face. It had gotten on her nerves that some random person had thought that starting a random conversation was the best idea. Beatrix had done nothing but walk into the store. She didn't do anything fun or amazing that had demanded Lazaria's attention. Just...walked right in.

Ellis had been trying to get a clear mental image of the shoes he was about to buy, using both his radar capabilities and his fingers to figure out what it looked like. His keen ears had picked up the conversation between the two girls, especially the exasperation in one of the girls' voice. She was obviously getting really uncomfortable with the unwelcome... attention she was getting from the other one. He thought he remembered her saying she was Lazaria... Strange name. He couldn't remember if the other girl had introduced herself, but she had a nice voice.
He could feel the vibrations in the ground of her starting to hurry away, and the sound of her footsteps gave away her direction. She was trying to leave, but the predator girl kept talking to her. Ellis felt for the girl with the nice voice. She reminded him for some reason of his second youngest sister Elisa. Perhaps it was the similar sound of her voice? He sent out a mass of radar waves that bounced back to him, giving a mental image of the store that he kept up in his inner vision. Thankfully none of them were moving. He picked up his box of shoes and tucked them under the crook of his left elbow and navigated by his memory to the girl with the nice voice, slipping his right arm around her shoulders with a smile.
"So are you ready to go, darling? Thanks for meeting me here. Sorry it took so long for me to pick up these shoes. I just have to go pay for them now." Ellis gave her a little wink, though his eyes were directed unfortunately much higher than the height of her head. He came just in time to hear Lazaria give the girl her number and called after her, "I'm sorry, but I don't think she'll be needing it."

" Thank you so much." Breathed Beatrix as the young man seemed to come to the rescue. As Lazaria left Beatrix groaned and shook her head. Plucking the paper from her bag she walked to the trash, dropping it inside. " You really saved me you know." Beatrix said, standing before Ellis. How to thank him, how to thank him...Food? Eh, the food court is full. Pay for the shoes? No, dont't have the cash. Plus he may not be buying them...[/i] Her mind was trying to work out a way to thank the young man.
" Is there anyway I can thank you?" Asked Beatrix, hoping he wasn't going to be after something Beatrix really didn't feel like giving up. She was smiling, but for somereason she got the feeling he wasn't exactly aware of where she was. But, she wasn't going to go with that feeling unless he openly told her he was blind, semi-blind or whatever.

Ellis laughed happily at Beatrix's relief and the way she seemed to be trying to make it up to him. He ran a hand through his nearly black hair and shook his head with a smile as she asked him any way she could thank him.
"You already have!" he told her. "I have no problem helping people out. It makes me feel really good, you know, on the inside." He playfully hit himself in the chest where his heart was. He could hear the crumple of the paper as she took it out of the bag, the vibrations of her footsteps as she walked over to throw it in the trash, and he could smell the faint scent of her skin as she stood before him again. He sent out another bout of waves that reflected off her body to give him a rough image of who he was with, though it only confirmed what he suspected. A lean, petite girl with long flowing hair. He could tell that just by the sound of her voice.
"But, if you're talking about doing something for me," he tapped his chin exaggeratedly as he thought of something. "You could tell me your name. And after that you could wait for me to buy these shoes and I'll walk you to the cab allegedly coming to pick you up in five minutes. That is, if you have one. Deal?"

Beatrix laughed as Ellis called her bluff concerning the cab. There was no cab, there never had been a cab. But, she wouldn't allow herself to give it away anymore than that soft laugh had already. To tell the truth, Beatrix felt the young man before her was on the adorable side and she liked his eyes. They were a shocking blue, and that enticed her. She liked them, they seemed nice.
" Well, I do suppose I at least owe you my name. You did save me from an uncomfortable situation." Beatrix worked it out in her head and gave a nod, holding her hand out with a smile that seemed friendly enough. " I'm Beatrix Tristan. Pleasure to meet you..." The young woman trailed off not knowing his name at all. Rolling her eyes at her stupidity, Beatrix realized she had forgotten that part.
" Well, you have a deal. But, there is no need to walk me to a cab. There is none." Beatrix, said. It had just been to hurry up and get rid of some random person that Beatrix had never met before.

"Now there's a smile," he chuckled with a grin in reply to Beatrix's laughter. "My name is Ellis Ayle." He hadn't used his radar since he first spoke with her, and had no idea that she was holding out her hand for him to shake, and therefore didn't make any move to do so. "Nice to meet you, Beatrix." He held up his pointer finger and told her quickly that he would just take a minute before walking to the counter in long strides.
He commented on the excellent service that he received as he paid for the shoes, feeling for his debit card. He held it out for the cashier to swipe. He did, while Ellis felt the buttons to enter his pin code. They thankfully had Braille. A quick radar showed him where the pen lay as well as the screen to sign his name, and he fumbled around until he found it, pressing it to where he needed to sign. He saw himself write his signature in his inner mind--every tiny, meticulous letter--and placed the pen down gently, holding out his hand expectantly for his card. He placed it back in his wallet and walked back over to Beatrix. He could hear her breathing and didn't bother to use any more waves.
"Well then, Beatrix, is there anywhere else I could accompany you to?"

Beatrix had tilted her head when he didn't take her hand, as if he hadn't seen it at all. It was growing more curious for the girl and harder for her to refrain from asking why he hadn't. Waitm before you go off and ask if he's blind, like the dumb fool you are, he just said something about your smile! IF he was a blind man, he wouldn't be able to see a smile...now would he?![/i] She nodded her head in agreement as he had walked off and paid for his goods.
Upon his return, she nodded her head and thought for a second. " Well, I have my boots I needed, I have th clothes I had to get...I don't think I need anything else, really. Anything you need?" Asked the girl, looking up from the corner of her eye.

Ellis adjusted his position slightly so that he was more facing Beatrix, hearing her voice more to one side of his ears as she asked him a question. His eyes involuntarily floated up, unused, as he tilted his head to the side in thought and tapped his cleanly shaved chin once more.
"I only came here for new running shoes--the last marathon I did really just wore them out--and another Race for Heart is coming up that I can't miss. I have to do some campaigning later for donations..." his thought trailed off as he inwardly made a list of things he still needed to do, as if he suddenly realized someone had changed the dates on his calendar. He shook his head lightly out of his train of thought. "Anyways, I'm finished here, and I should probably get back to school. Knowing me, I probably have some science homework that I neglected sitting somewhere on the mess that is my desk. For some reason, teachers don't give me as much of a break as I would think for losing stuff." He chuckled to himself with a good-natured shake of his head. "I'm not a very popular student. But hey, I understand. Not many people like doing extra work for their pupils. I feel bad being a burden. Anyways, I'm rambling on again, and you definitely don't want to listen to me do that," he grinned.
"Oh, would you like me to take you to where you need to go? I'd be glad to give you a lift. Or at least let me accompany you to the exit and let me flag down a cab."

" You attend the Academy?" Asked Beatrix, a bit aware now of what he might just be talking about when he said homework. As far as the young lady was concerned, that was the only school that wasn't on some kind of break or another. Even though he had listed such spectacular things she couldn't help but wonder if he was blind. It nagged at the back of her mind, however she pushed it back.
" The Race of Heart? I was thinking about joining that. I decided otherwise. I generally stick to the rocks then the road." Laughed Beatrix as she looked down at her bags and saw the new hiking boots. " I was hear to by a new pair of boots, same reason you bought new running shoes. However, I prefer no shoes. They're too restrictive. Aaand, there I go on my own little tangent." Beatrix shook her head at how idiotic it was to go off on how she had never really worn shoes at the village. The would just bore the poor boy who seemed to be very kind-hearted.
" Well, I too have to get back to school. But, if you call a Cab. I think I'll pay for it, okay?" She asked looking to the exit.

"I do attend the Academy, and by the way you asked that question it sounds like you do as well. I don't seem to have encountered you there, however. How old are you, Beatrix?" he asked, his eyes now drifting towards the left, where a large neon sign flashed the letters: SALE in sequence. "But on another subject," he started, forgetting for the moment that he had asked her a question, "I rather go without shoes as well, but for a different. It's easier to feel the vibrations, and I don't have to waste any energy amplifying them. Thick boots make it especially hard. But here I'd rather not step in any gum or whatnot and get my feet all dirty," he laughed, making a little face. He smiled and tried to get himself back on topic.
"Now, to the matter at hand," he said sternly, waving his finger to the side of her. It didn't take long before a smile broke through his hard barrier. "How coincidental! You and I just happen to be going to the same place, I assume. If you wouldn't feel uncomfortable having me give you a lift, I would gladly do it."

" To answer your first question, I am 15 and I do attened the academy." Explainmed beatrix. She listened to him agree on her tangent and smiled a bit, nodding her head in agreement. But. she didn't quite understand his reasons. And stuck with her own idea that shoes were just far too uncomfortable, waited for him to finish.
" It's odd indeed, that we are going to the same place. And if you wouldn't mind giving me a lift, that would be fine as well." The second question had been answered and she awaited to see if showed any signs of takingback the offer. If he did take the offer back, well, so be it. But if not, she would once again have to be thankful to him for something.
