Fleta sat at a table. There were cards laid out in front of her. She seemed to be staring through them, as if to interpret them, not by looking at them, but seeing the inside of them, looking so far into the meaning that she was all but deaf to the goings on around her. Her face was so white that the sun shone off it, not able to be absorbed by the cells in her skin so it just bounced off. Her white and gray hair fell over her shoulders as she leaned forward, apparently studying the cards. A person just passing by would say she was absorbed in them completely. They had no idea. She had flipped out the cards casually. It was a warm, pleasant day, and she had hoped to find out the feeling of her first days in Cassis. When the cards landed on the table..she could not believe her eyes. She looked around widly at the calm, serene town. People passing by doing their daily activities without a clue. Her thoughts raced. Unbelievable...the death..the destruction..the hate that is connected to this town..and they have no clue.. She shook her head. And the thoughts disappeared like dandelion puffs floating on the wind. She looked around and frowned at the cards on the table. "When did I flip these?" She whispered slowly as she returned to them with an avid fascination.

A young girl walked casually down the street, her blond hair seemed to shine in the summer sun, yet her face was barely present. Moments ago, Her parents had pretty much just dropped her off just like they did her brother. Fear is what caused them to do this again. The fear that they wouldn't be able to control her powers, or for the sake of Lacey. They have one left. One child. What are they going to do if that last one is a reject as well. They would become childless and the school would gain yet another gifted child to mold, to heal and to teach. A tear drop landed from her eye, leaving it behind to try to forget about her parents. She looked back once more at the road that her parents dropped her off at. Being twelve years old, people would have expected better of them, but her parents were afraid of her. And afraid of what the school held. They didn't want anything to do with it. They still loved her, but she highly doughted it now that she was like her brother. Brother, I'm almost there. I really hope that you can help me out. I really need you right now. I missed you so much, maybe that's what brought my powers out? Missing you? I wish mom and dad understood, but they don't. They just don't. She loved her brother though. Even though he was eight years older than her, she was close to him before the accident with that night. She blinked a few times to not think about that situation that changed her life forever, instead, her eye's noticed the form of the girl with the cards. She seemed to deaf to the world as she sat there staring at the cards. STrange. Her parents wouldn't even understand leaving their little girl out on the streets of cassis with all these people out there. She shrugged her shoulders as she pulled her luggage behind her. She knew she'd reach the school eventually, but whenever that would be? She hoped she'd get there before dark. She had nowhere to go. She stopped momentarily to stop dragging her bad. It was starting to ache her arm and she looked back at the girl. She didn't know she was like her.

" Come on, Val!!" Came the demanding cry of a girl who raced past the table Fleta had set herself at. Hair fallowed as if it were a cape in the wind. pale-white blond in color and long, it seemed to fall around the slender shoulders of Roxanna gracefully as the girl spun to wait for her sister. Her shirt was to her waist and a shade of purple featuring black bird shadows across the front. Her jeans were basic and fit as usually. As for the shoes, she wore the typical sneakers. To many about her, Roxanna appeared to be very normal. But to those that knew her as R.A she was far from it.
" I'm coming, Roxanna. Calm down." Laughed a soft voice from somewhere in a mass of people. The people seemed to split like the Red Sea to allow the girl passage through the crowds. Golden hair was falling to her shoulders in a wonderful crimp. It began to slowly shift and change to be a bit shorter and tighten into small springy coils. The drss she wore was thin strapped and pale blue in color. It fell to her ankles originally however it had given itself a bit of a trim and now came to her knees. White flip-flops hit the bottoms of her dainty feet as she strolled toward her impatient sister.
" You always say that, Val. 'Calm Down, Roxanna.' Sheesh! No fun." Stated the younger of the two, hands on her hips as she taped her foot in waiting. " I know, But that's because you're so energetic." Came the sweet reply of Valerie as she finally reached her sister. Lavender eyes seemed to shine with happiness as she looked to the sky. A pleasent day was just what the doctor ordered.

"Of course... Saturday... No, I won't forget... I know, I know!" the laughing voice of Salvador Donia could be heard over the din of the people in the street. He was standing in the doorway of a narrow and unassuming two-story building that was squashed between architectural giants. He was speaking to a young woman in high heels with short, wavy dark hair. She looked at him doubtfully, but playfully.
"Fine. I'm counting on you. The tango isn't a one-person dance."
Salvador smiled and rubbed his arms, putting a pained look on his face. "My biceps have noticed," he told her, backing away as her face turned to angry surprise so that she wouldn't be able to hit him. He ran off, laughing, his nice dance shoes thudding on the pavement of the street.
He loved this part of town. The streets were always lined with performers of every type. Living statues posed for the entertainment of a passer-by, moving only at the bidding of a few coins. Musical instruments sounded on both sides of the streets as people showed off their expertise. People stood in a ring around a show of breakdancers blasting music through their stereo. It was a huge tourist attraction, and a great show of culture in Salvador's opinion. He didn't seem too out-of-place even in his ruffly, red satin shirt; on the contrary, he looked like a performer. And it would be untrue to say that he wasn't... just, not at this point in time.
Salvador's eyes caught a girl sitting at the table, partially overshadowed by the crowd that had gathered by an extremely talented recorder player who was somehow able to juggle with his feet while he played a beautiful piece of music. He personally thought that the juggling was a bit tacky and superfluous--the guy was talented--but hey, it was his performance. Upon closer inspection he noticed that she was looking at cards... Tarot cards. He hadn't seen a fortune teller set up shop here before. This actually looked pretty interesting. Shouldering his way through the stream of people, he stood by the table to watch with fascination. Maybe he could get his palm read or something. He'd never entirely believed in all that mumbo-jumbo, but it would still be really interesting.

Fleta glanced up only momentarily at the girl running past her enthusiastically. She placed her hands on the edges of the table, half-way afraid that by energy alone, the girl would knock the table over on passing. A grimace marked her face at the girls exhuberance. She had never been the happy go lucky type. It showed as clearly as the gray in her eyes almost predicted that she was a somber person. Fleta spoke up softly, trying to catch the girls attention without sounding rude. "Umm..excuse me..but could you please be more careful? I would direly hate to have to pick up all of my cards off the ground." She looked up in time to see the girl that she was talking to walking at a slower pace. She smiled at her for knowing when to slow down and take her time, instead of jumping around like she was hyped up on caffeine..or just plain adrenaline. "Dont know how you do it.." She muttered. She shook her head grimly as she turned back to the disturbing predicament that the cards stated that she had landed herself in. A hand came up from the side of the table and half way covered her mouth as she began to worriedly chew at her thumbnail. She saw a sudden flash of red, that ended up as not so much of a flash, as much as an ever present color. The hand that she had already brought up traveled farther up to protect her eyes as she looked up at the unexpected visitor. He was staring at the cards avidly. Her head leaned to the side as she studied him. "Can I help you?" She asked in a monotone voice. She almost smacked her forehead as she asked it. Looking around her at all the performers..and her with taro cards.."Oh no..no no no.." She waved her hands in front of her. "None of this..tell my fortune shit..Not what I do..well..it is..but I would rather not.." She said turning back to her cards. She scooped up the cards that were laying out on the table in a smooth and practiced movement and added them to the deck that laid closer to her. She hit them on the table, straightening them out. She looked back and sighed. "Look..I dont mean to be rude..but sometimes I see what I dont want to okay? And whether you know it or not..you might not want to find out what your future is. God made it a mystery and it should stay that way..I know..curiousity is a pain..but live with it.. curiousity is better than paranoia..I promise.."

Lexi watched in facination at all the proformers that gathered on the streets of Cassis, but she didn't care much about performers. She just wanted to find the school. She watched the crowd that gathered around the girl she passed with the cards. She didnt' know what was going on so she let her child like curiosity get the better of her. Tucking her hair behind her ear, she grabbed ahold of the bag and moved back to the table where she saw Salvador try to get attention. She smiled casually at his curiosity in these cards. I wonder what's going to happen. She do card tricks or something? MAybe she builds like the house of cards or something. It has to be something. She's got a few people around her. Her childlike features looked at Fleta with wondering eye's and she let go of her bag again as she placed a small hand on the table, just to keep her form from moving with the people moving behind her.

"Aww, seriously? Man, that stinks. I just thought it would be kind of cool," Salvador shrugged, grinning sheepishly as he replied to Fleta's remarks. She looked a little angry and slightly troubled at his presence. It made him a bit uncomfortable, to say the least. He generally didn't have that impression on people. He shifted his weight on his feet, averted his eyes from the girl, and then turned the other way.
"So... I guess I'll go, then," he muttered, feeling impolite just to leave without any kind of warning, even though she didn't exactly seem to want him around. He still hesitated, wondering if she'd give in if he stayed a little longer, but still felt extremely uncomfortable in her presence. Just as he was about to resign and walk away, he noticed another person, a girl, walking over in his direction... Or rather, Fleta's direction, as she obviously didn't come over to see him. Ah, well, he thought he might as well give her a little warning.
"I wouldn't... She doesn't do any tricks," he whispered to her behind his hand, gesturing with his eyes towards Fleta. "And I don't think she likes it when people touch her table." He remembered her scolding of the girl who had run by.

Fleta watched the man walk away disappointed. She let her eyes fall on the little girl that had laid her hand on the table. She sighed and wiped a hand down her face in exhasperation. "Wait.." She called out to him. " If its what you really want...I'll see what I can do..but I cant guarantee anything okay?" She said, trying to explain that sometimes she was wrong. "And I cant see into the past..just the future..." She said as her hand slapped the table. She looked over at the blonde girl. "Sorry..didnt mean to do that..Come here..and you can watch.." She said standing up to move people out of the girls way. She seemed to have her hand on the table to not get knocked over. She sat back down and waited until the girl stood next to her. "My names Fleta..whats yours?" She asked her leaning across the table to talk to the girl. She looked back up at the man in the bright red shirt. She tapped the cards on the table. "So...wanna see what is best left unseen? Know what is supposed to be a secret?... Then sit." She said pointing at the chair across from her. She glanced in dismay at the crowd it seemed she had attracted. She sighed, resigned to her fate. She prepared the taro cards for a reading..but first..she needed his name..to know who to have the taro cards focus on. If she didnt, she could be getting a reading from anyone in the crowd. "So...whats your name..stranger in red shirt?" She asked attempting at humor.

Lexus turned her head to the man as he spoke to her and she almost wanted to leave the table before she got mad, but she wasn't doing anything wrong. She just didn't want to get run over by the people. Her short stature was barely seen among the tall older people that gathered. She looked behind her at her bag and hesitated taking her bag and leaving. That was until she noticed that Fleta looked at her and she didn't want to move just yet. I hope she doesn't get mad at me. If she does... I'll just run. She said as she looked at her fingers. She didn't want anything to happen, but that was her only defense but she didn't want to hurt anyone. So her powers were useless. "Are you sure I can?" She asked surprised at how nice she seemed. She wasn't anything that the guy in the red shirt said. Lexi moved when Fleta gave her the way to stand beside and oberve her. "My names Lexi..." She said, her voice meet and little, afraid to speak up in the crowd. Her attention turned to the guy that spoke to her. She was going to tell his future.

Salvador turned as Fleta called to him, a big grin spreading across his face. It must have been his soulful brown eyes, or that sexy shirt he was wearing that made her cave in. He knew he was just irresistible. He paused and called to her over his shoulder, "Well... if you insist." He was trying to make it seem like it was she who really wanted to give him his fortune. He didn't want to seem too eager, but inside he was just bubbling over with victory and anticipation.
He sat down at the chair she gestured at with a toothy grin, reclining relaxedly as she asked him his name.
"I am Salvador Donia," he loudly declared with a flourish. "But most just call me the Sexy Spaniard." He gave her a little wink. It was definitely the shirt.

Fleta looked at the girl. "Of course..Lexi..what a pretty name.." She said turning her attention back to the man now sitting in front of her. He seemed so confident that she almost changed her mind. But..a promise is a promise. "Salvador.." An eyebrow raised slowly at his introduction, trying his hardest to get all the attention from everyone nearby. "Ok...Salvador.." Refusing to call him The sexy spaniard, she enunciated every syllable in his name. She sighed as she concentrated on his face and tapped the cards thoughtfully against the table. Her eyes wandered over his curly dark hair, his brown eyes, his tan....that god awful red shirt.. She shook her head at that and began to shuffle the cards. She closed her eyes and concentrated solely on the one man. It wasnt that hard to do..he demanded attention.. One side of her lips curled up at the thought. With barely a flick of the wrist she laid the first card on the table. She glanced at it and chewed on her lower lip, saying nothing. She laid out another card. It was again..curious..She glanced back up at the man and just flipped the other card over, not really wanting to look at that too. She reluctantly looked down and scooped the three cards up. "It seems Salvador that you will lead a prosperous life and have no problems with your love life..good for you.." She said in a strained tone as she looked at him emotionlessly.
The Fool Card-The first card that was flipped..card of infinite possibilities.. carries a bag that has all he needs if only he will use them. But carries a warning: Stop daydreaming and fantasising and watch your step, lest you fall and end up looking the fool.
The Emperor Card- The second card...He is direct, guileless and all too often irresistible. Unfortunately, like a baby he can also be a tyrant. Impatient, demanding, controlling. In the best of circumstances, he signifies the leader that everyone wants to follow, sitting on a throne that indicates the solid foundation of an Empire he created, loves and rules with intelligence and enthusiasm. But that throne can also be a trap, a responsibility that has the Emperor feeling restless, bored and discontent
The Devil Card- The final card..the one that struck Fleta as odd.. pleasure and abandon, of wild behavior and unbridled desires. With Capricorn as its ruling sign, this is a card about ambitions; it is also synonymous with temptation and addiction. As a person, the Devil can stand for a man of money or erotic power, aggressive, controlling, or just persuasive. This is not to say a bad man, but certainly a powerful man who is hard to resist. The important thing is to remind the Querent that any chain is freely worn. In most cases, you are enslaved only because you allow it.
"Curious.." She muttered. The cards were linked, and obviously were related to this man..but the devil card? She looked him over. "Nah..must be wrong.."

Salvador smiled at her prediction and pumped his fist into the air. "Seriously! Maybe I should start believing in this stuff!" he smiled, laughing triumphantly as he spoke. "Dude, I guess that means I should so ask Amaya out. Of course, I already knew that she noticed how intensely irresistible I am," he was now examining his fingernails nonchalantly as he kept on talking to no one in particular.
Still, when he looked up at Fleta, she seemed to look a little troubled. His brow furrowed slightly as he scrutinized her reluctant face. She seemed to be thinking hard about something. He had noticed that she had a funny sort of look on her face when she was giving his fortune--not funny ha ha--but funny weird. Like she didn't want to tell him something. Of course, that made Salvador pretty nervous at first, because he didn't exactly want to get a reading that he was going to die in the next ten minutes or something, but now that she told him about his perfectly good future, he didn't see what the weird funny look on her face was for.
Oh. Wait.
Salvador narrowed his eyes at Fleta, his eyes flashing back and forth between the cards that she now held in her hand and her face. "You're lying to me, aren't you? It said something terrible, didn't it? You don't have to protect me, you know. I don't believe in this stuff. I mean, you could let me go on in life like everything's fine and dandy until one day, WHAM! Giant nuclear bomb accidentally fired from Korea with the wrong coordinates suddenly falls right on me and blows me into tiny pieces!" Salvador's hands gestured wildly as he attempted to use them to help create the hypothesized scene. He looked like a spastic monkey.
"Or..." he leaned towards Fleta and wagged his finger at her, "you could at least give me fair warning."

Fleta's eyebrow quirked up, more like a twitch. She fiddled with the edge of the top card as she listened to him talk. At his first little outburst, she was almost tempted to bring out the first card that she had pulled just to tell him that he should be cautious..he didnt seem like the cautious type. She noticed that he was studying her face and she struggled to keep it neutral. She sighed at his dramatization of a nuclear bomb. "You are one for the dramatic aren't you.." She said, more as a statement than a question. She flipped the top card back over and shoved it over to Salvador. "Nothing as horrible as that I promise..I am not worried about your future..no death..so dont worry so.." She waited as he studied the card. "That is the Fool Card.. It means mostly that, yes you have everything it takes to go far in life..if you just use it...and use it properly..Or else..you will make a fool of yourself. " As she considered the outburst he had when first hearing her prediction..she wasnt so sure that he hadnt already made a fool of himself. " I also pulled the Emperor Card.." She paused as she thought of the best way to explain it without boosting his ego even more than it was but decided that the only way to properly describe it was to say it like it was taught to her. "The Emperor Card resembles someone..." She cleared her throat, "irresistable...direct...and ..guileless..But..but but but... Before you say anything..it can also resemble a tyrant..so it has a good and a bad side..just like everyone else.." She tapped thoughtfully on the tarot deck with her pinky finger as she debated on how to tell him about the Devil Card. She shrugged. "The last was the Devil Card.. Something about being aggresive..and a chain freely worn.." She flicked her wrist in an absent gesture. "Nothing so major as an explostion..but I will leave you with a warning..just a simple..harmless person to person warning: Calm down..study peoples reactions to you. Maybe they dont like you because of your personality..maybe they dont like you for your looks. Some people have alterior motives..and if you dont study the people you are with..you may find yourself hurt.. Mentally..or physically." She pointed at him as she said the last two words in a dull tone. She turned back to Lexi. She wondered what power the girl had that would bring her to the town. She was obviously looking for the school. Fleta grabbed her Fool Card back but didnt immediately put it back in her deck. She glanced up at Salvador, and handed it back to him. "Here..you need to keep this..as a reminder to ...watch your step." She said as she stood up from the table. She looked down at Lexi. Such a young girl..wonder where her parents are.. She looked up looking for anyone that would resemble the girl. Maybe a parent, and aunt or uncle..a sibling..anything. "Hey...are you here alone?" She asked Lexi as she gathered her things. She no longer wished to be outside, the people were making her have a claustrophobic attack. "You want to go to the school?" She asked holding out her hand to guide her through the mass of people. "I know where it is..and as it happens.." She hefted the bag that had been sitting under the table near her chair. "That is where I am going to.."

LExi watched with interest at how Fleta was to tell about him with such precision. Everything she picked out seemed to match this man who seemed so confident in himself and yet he was too overloaded with what he heard that he completely didn't want to hear what the fine print meant. Her curious eye's looked at each of the cards, wondering what this girl would pull out for her? Maybe something that mean hope? or maybe good health? Who knows... Lexi smiled at Fleta, noticing that her attention was directed towards her. "Me...Umm... Yeah, I'm searching for something." She knew all too well about the dangers of strangers, but this girl seemed to have a special gift with people. She could already tell what a person was like, before she even got to know them, with the help of her cards. Fleta gathered her things and Lexi knew the show was over. She turned around and grabbed her bags as she was ready to walk away from the booth that had Fleta set up until she heard her say something about the school. How does she know? She's not a pyscic? She nodded her head in a confused state, but went along with it, until the woman reached her hand out for her hand. Instantly with a bad reaction she jerked her hand closer to her body away from her, folding her arms into her body as she moved back away from her. Bumping into one of the visitors to her booth, she quickly muttered a sorry and stared at Fleta. "I'm sorry, but I just don't want you to touch my hands....." She said. She knew that this woman would wonder why not, but she couldn't tell her. Not until she trusted her at least. How did she know that she was going to the school? She mentioned nothing about it. "How do you know what school I'm going to?" Her tone was that of nervousness and frightened nature from her reaching for her hand. She was afraid to hurt her accidently.

Seaheart had been around, listening, thinking, wondering. He had felt starenge presences...or just somethign wrong. He came around the time she started explaining cards. It was...funny. She felt she could actually predict the future. He just found it...funny. Nothing big enough to make him speak, but still funny. He'd say something but still nothing could be done. She believed fate could be predicted. Well...no. She was giving rough guesses of what might happen. Still, nothing could be predicted except death so....the last one made the most sense. An explosion that might kill, something like that. Well of course! Explosions happened everyday. She wasn't predicting much new. He had met Salvador before, and he was a fool. He walked past, a bit of a sneer on his face. He looked ta Lexi. Someone as small as her in this shcool? He didn't know young'uns participated in this school. Whatever. She was stating alot of the absolute obvious, or common knowledge.
